Perhaps the most tenuous situation to be in when playing Wordle is to have four letters the correct positions, but many remaining options to fill that fifth one. After two guesses I had one correctly placed letter, and three incorrectly placed ones. You’d think getting the answer in three guesses would have been an easy task. I solved today’s Wordle in six attempts; my starter today was PLUMB

I needed 5 tries starting with HEDGE. 30 seconds on the Mini. Nothing to report today.

    • Other than whether watching I didn’t do much (read ‘procrastinated and have still not started coding again”). I am ready for this rain to move the fuck out already. I’m guessing WLF caught four inches rain, will confirm later.

I rewatched the first two episodes of “The Outlaws” on Amazon Prime, with an intent on finishing the series at some point.

I was so hopeful after two guesses, and somewhat crushed that it took me all six.

Wordle in 4 and could have been 3.

We think most of the M10 we put in the ring is likely in the Flint River by now. Certainly, no longer in the ring. A whole lot of rain overnight.

I stopped at a little hole-in-the-wall motorcycle shop and had my new tire mounted. The last time I got tires, I did one of them myself and realized it was well worth the money to let someone else do it. It’s like a big bicycle tire- at least the theory is the same- but much harder.

No word on making lunches for the USO. Don’t know what happened there…

    • For me it could have been three, or could have been a fail! I could make at least four words after my third guess, so I played strategy instead.

Glad you got the scooter tire replaced. Sorry about the gravel… I’m thankful the compost I spread the other day is contained in raised beds, otherwise it would have washed away as well.

    • David says:

      Bummer about the gravel.

Kudos on accepting help on the tire. I am all about being kind to myself these days and outsourcing definitely falls into that arena.

I have a scar on my forehead from changing a motorcycle tire from a tire iron that slipped. If you have the right equipment it is easy, otherwise it is a pain in the ass.

I fought hard and did eventually did get it swapped, but I think I also had to take it somewhere to get the bead to seat. My little air compressor didn’t have enough volume. I also had to jerry rig some rim protectors and that didn’t work well.

A journey around the world starts with a single step. Like David said, do 10-15 minutes of coding then try again tomorrow.

I need to take my own advice and put my road bike on the trainer and actually ride it some.

  4. Back from a failed Lidl run, because I misjudged on which street I should turn but then Memorial Drive traffic killed my plan. Went to Publix instead.

Lots of thunderstorms last night. Had to release the dog from his crate and let him sleep with us because he was scared and whining. I love the rain except when I leave for work and all the parents are dropping their kids at Paideia. Usually there are a lot of walkers and it’s not too bad. This morning it took me 20 minutes to clear a half mile from my house. I blame David!

This getting up and going to work everyday bullshit is bullshit.

  6. Over 4” of rain caught in WLF’s gauge. If memory serves me, that’s more than twice the amount predicted.

The rain washed away, well to other parts of the yard, some of the wood chip mulch I have in pathways. Dangen!

  7. In case anyone is curious, it’s my time to cook tonight and this is what I am making for dinner — loaded taco soup.

  8. Well the weather has certainly improved. Just got back from a five-mile walk. If I didn’t have dinner plans and the desire to lose weight I’d be headed to an outdoor brewery this afternoon.

    • David says:

I am looking longingly at the blue sky, that is for sure! I’m stuck in the salt mine this afternoon due to a doctor’s appointment this morning.

  9. Barb says:

my cold seems to be better, I feel better than yesterday.
I’m trying not to work very hard – so I haven’t been sitting at my desk unless I have to, I can monitor my emails from my phone or ipad.

damn it David – 32 seconds on the mini – thought maybe, just maybe I’d beat you today.
    Wordle in 5

You sure came within striking distance! I could have done it faster if my fingers had operated properly. 😉
