Something came upon me yesterday causing me to spend most of the night under covers on the futon. When I’d get up to pee I’d uncontrollably shiver as if it were 30°F in the house. I’m supposed to meet up with a buddy this afternoon, let’s see how I feel later.

I solved today’s Wordle in four attempts; my starter today was HOUSE. I am pleased with the strategy I employed to get me there in four today.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 198.0 pounds (+2.2 from last week’s weigh-in); not going to beat myself up about this today. It is what it is and it’s been a tough weather and health week so exercise has been sparse.

Wordle in 5, could have been 4, starting with SATIN

A fairly quiet day. A couple more episodes of Murders in the Building, 50 minutes steady on the trainer watching the last 2 stages of the San Juan Tour. Will start watching Tour of Saudi Arabia tonight, looking for Joey Rosskopf.

Our regular evening viewing is Jeopardy, but the current winner speakssoquicklyyoucanbarelyunderstandhim and has enough body ticks for a Swiss watch. Very annoying. And he’s fast enough and clever enough to be around a while.

Hello! I had a very, very busy day at work yesterday. I had a quiet weekend, we did nothing of interest Saturday except take Finn to Six Feet for lunch and Sunday we watched the footballsing. I kinda don’t care about the Superbowl matchup now.

Last night we finished the second season of OMITB. A very good ending! I have no idea what to watch now.

Greetings from Discount Tire. I clearly have been going to the wrong tire store, so thank you for the recommendation, y’all. I’ve never been greeted in the parking lot at a tire store. I do need a new set of tires, but the price is definitely right. This is going to fix my long-running TPMS issue as well.

Hope you are feeling better this morning Paulie.

I decided to go to the Y for the stretch class at 7pm, & they had a new one right before called Strong Nation – its a movement with music class with no weights – looked interesting, and when I do these classes I always realize I have ZERO rhythm. I survived, but barely – I am so out of shape & have a sore knee, the instructor I’m sure was thinking, what the hell.

I’ve been watching Fire County – its an interesting new network show. Lots of drama, not really that much wildfire firefighting.

    • David says:

I’m right there with you on the zero rhythm. I’m gonna work on it though.

    • Thanks. I’m at about 70-80%, and wishing I felt much better.

I have a moderate amount of rhythm. I used to tear up step aerobics classes, that was until I tried a hip-hop/funk class at the behest of some of my coworkers, and left the class in a huff because I couldn’t get it.

  5. As for TV, I have watched a few episodes of The Premise — VERY DISTURBING/WIERD! There are only five episodes of The Premise, created by BJ Novack (from The Office) and the ones I have seen remind me of Twilight Zone, and are probably along the lines of Black Mirror, though I can’t comment on that having never watched that series.

Betsy keeps espousing the joy of Abbott Elementary, I’ve watched two episodes and am on the fence.

If I had a streaming service to which I used to subscribe I’d be watching Documentary Now — a series of fake documentaries. I watched two episodes at Betsy’s last Wednesday and really liked it.

    • Barb says:

Abbott Elementary is ok – I don’t think it’s as great as the critics think it is.
But, it can be entertaining, the idiot principal annoys me, the rest of the main characters are ok.

We finally finished (caught up) on Stranger Things a couple weeks ago. That show is just too weird for me. We are so behind on watching most of the “popular, talked about” series. We don’t have Peacock, but I really want to watch the new show Poker Face.

I’m back to the salt mine. The TPMS light didn’t go out in 15 minutes like they said it would, even when I turned the car off and back on when I got home. So I may have a return trip to Chamblee on my horizon. It’s OK, I’m very pleased with the service and pricing at Discount Tires.

I clearly haven’t been in Chamblee for a minute, it’s pretty much unrecognizable.

I forgot to report earlier that I managed Wordle in 3 starting with TIRES. I had 4 correct letters in 2, so just one round of Wordle roulette today. I’ll take it.

  7. Debbie says:

Wordle in 5 starting with BEACH.

Hope you’re feeling better Paulie. Your symptoms sound very similar to what the guy we tried to have dinner with had a couple of weeks ago. He woke up good to go the next day, but it was very intense shivering. He’s had it 3 times post COVID.

The TPMS light in my truck is just going to have to live on. I had two sensors fixed and shortly thereafter another one went out. The code shows left rear, but I’m too annoyed with it to shell out another $100. You know back in the day, you just had to check the air in your tires regularly. What a concept. And get your kids off my lawn.

I tried 3 horses yesterday as new family prospects. I forgot what it’s like to be on this side of horse-trading. Painful, it’s painful. All three had significant price tags and they knew NOTHING. Could barely steer and had to kick the crap out of them to get them to move out.

I’m going to drive down to Ocala tomorrow and try a few more. If nothing pans out, I’ll just wait until later in the spring when the market isn’t so hot down here.

Thanks for all the show ideas! It’s really fun we find a series that we both enjoy. Otherwise, I get bombarded with old episodes of Antiques Roadshow.

    • steve says:

Antiques Roadshow FTW!!! Much better to speed watch and skip the stupid Tiffany lamps.

And we’re in the third (fourth?) season of Firefly Lane. I don’t think I can keep up anymore. Flashback after flashback…

  8. Jenka says:

Hmmm, I will check out The Detectorists and Documentary Now. Thanks! I’m waiting on Abbott Elementary because we’re currently working our way through New Girl and we only need one sitcom at a time. This is my fourth time through New Girl but Kevin’s first. I like sitcoms for when we only have a short time to watch TV, but if it’s an evening binge-fest I need something longer.

    • While I love Zooey Deschanel, I have not been able to sink my teeth into New Girl.

      • Barb says:

I never really got into New Girl either.
I do like a sit com for wasting 20 minutes.

Ff course Ghosts in my current favorite – but I also really like Young Sheldon. (all the other characters besides Sheldon are really good)
I’ve been told by someone I can’t remember who to check out American Auto. I haven’t watched it at all yet.

  9. Pulled the plug on my drinking plan for tonight. I still don’t feel “healthy”.
