Last night I met a buddy for drinks at Brew Dog in Inman Park. It’s weird to think how long I have been going to this area, the first time for dinner after Virginia’s moved there from the Highlands in the mid-1990s. My has that area changed since, first by the creation of Krog Street Market, and even more so by the Beltline. I’m more impressed with Brew Dog’s space than the beers I consumed. I would have liked to try their food, all things I saw get delivered to others looked delicious, but that wasn’t in the budget.

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was BROAD

The national assignments started coming out last night and I picked up a good one. Redlands is a 5 day stage race in California that has sorta been on my wish list for a while. Unfortunately, it conflicts with a local race I already committed to, so guess which one I took. Road trip! I also picked up Sunny King-Anniston, which is part of the new American Crit calendar. Maybe TJ will be there?

    • Barb says:

good question Steve – TJ hasn’t been doing much – maybe turning 80 is finally slowing him down?
I ship a lot of freight out to Redlands – I know where that city is.

      • steve says:

I had to look it up. I thought bay area, but it’s an LA suburb.

I love TJ, but I really think it may be time to slow down a bit. I’d hate to see him fall down pushing a rider back in from the pit… a whole lot of paperwork!!

  3. Hey David, what was your beef about APPLE, or Wordle in general yesterday?

    • David says:

I didn’t have a beef with it, I felt seen by APPLE showing up on the first day that I could eat one again. And we had been discussing apples here on the blog the previous day.

Dinner was blissful last night, it made me so happy to not have half of it stuck in my teeth. And on the good news/bad news front, I can enjoy ice cream again.

Wordle was fucking cruel today, I had the three middle letters but went down in flames. The revealed word was a kick in the teeth.

Chiming in today. 🙂 Hello. I got Wordl in 6. I had the last three letters but too many options on the front end. Finally guessed right. Sometime during the night I lost my voice. Not sure where it went. Wonder is I was yelling at the runners all night. Maybe a shot of whiskey will bring it back. I feel fine…just no voice. My friends are probably happy about that. hahahaha. Good GUTS run last night, pizza, beer and fire pit. Dogsitting this week. Just want to say hi.

Got Wordle in 4, that was lucky.

David – why couldn’t you eat ice cream with braces?

Spent most of the afternoon trying to figure out where to put stuff in the camper, this one has so much more cabinet space & storage, but of course is totally different – so, it will take some work to get it right (& keep things secure when in transit).
The surprise of the day was it has a built in vacuum system – that was shocking and awesome. Trying to sweep out all the dirt was always a challenge with the old one.

    • Jenka says:

I was wondering the same thing! You’d think ice cream would be one of the few foods you CAN eat.

    • David says:

The wires on my teeth made eating ice cream unpleasant, the cold would make my teeth hurt. Any anything chunky in the ice cream would get all stuck. So, it was a thing.

We are loving Detectorists, thank you so much for that rec! We get Finn today so we’ll have to put it off until Monday. It seems totally innocuous until one of them says “fuck.” Which is one of the reasons why I love it!

We went to Jinya for ramen last night. Geez, that is good shit. Kevin got the ramen with chicken wontons (!) and I got the spicy umami miso ramen. I can’t even.

  7. Still whooped, but at lest accomplished two chores today — wood burning, wood chip making — before calling it quits for lunch.

  8. Debbie says:

Wordle in 4, 2 posts eaten.

    Still sick.

    Happy Humpday!

  9. If you comment gets eaten could I ask you to send me a screenshot? Thanks.

    • My host is admitting to having issues today.

    • David says:

The problem is the posts just go poof, so there’s not anything to screenshot. It’s also wildly random. The blog will work great for days on end, just to lull us into complacency, and then one fine day a post gets eaten. There does seem to be a relationship between the length of the post and its probability of not posting. I’ve learned to copy long posts to the clipboard before I hit Post Comment.

Woot! My power bill is going down by $27 next month. Georgia Power’s flat rate billing arrangement is amazing. This is the only bill I have that has gone down the last couple of years. Last year it dropped by $2 or $3, which I’ll take, but $27/month is even better!
