A lot of hard work in WLF yesterday, extracting three small tree stumps for the ground, it helped that the trees were dead and the ground moist, helping in the extraction. I also cut down another small tree because it would eventually leafy out and cast shade on WLF. More tree work will happen in March, though I will have to hire professionals to handle it.

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was GLIDE

Wordle in 4! I thought it was going to get me after the first 2 letters were right. So many options.

A quiet night with a recovering Debbie last night. As any of you know, that procedure is not a lot of fun, especially if you’ve been fasting for 3 days. And we’re both still hacking, which makes her a little “gun shy” shall we say?

  2. Back from a quick Kroger run, where you will not be surprised to read that they didn’t have the two things I went to buy, Impossible meat products, in stock. I did manage to get a couple of other items on sale, so it wasn’t a total loss.

  3. Need to crack on with the job training. My future expenses will be large, and will require income.

I’m also shocked that I still have moments of coughing, two weeks after I initially became ill.

  4. Oh yeah, watched the first episode of “Fleishman is in Trouble”. It was weird, yet interesting, so I’ll probably keep watching. Anyone else on that bandwagon?

    • Barb says:

I think I’ll start watching this afternoon & let you know – I need a new show today.

      • Barb says:

Just finished the 1st episode – what made you start watching this? how did you find it? I’m not sure about it at all yet- I’ll watch another episode & decide.

        • I’ve seen ads for it, I like Claire Danes, and it also has Lizzy Caplan from “Party Down” which we’ve discussed recently. I’ll probably watch the second episode tonight or tomorrow night.

We started a weird one last week- a movie with some bigger names (Debbie, what was the name of that?) We stopped about halfway through and she picked it back up later. She said it was good that we stopped when we did as we had seen the best parts and it only got stranger.

    • Jenka says:

We started watching “Everything Everywhere All At Once” last weekend and stopped it halfway through because it was so dumb. It is nominated for the most number of Oscars this year, which makes me think that everyone just didn’t understand it so they figured it was good.

The costume designer definitely deserves an Oscar.

    • Debbie says:

The Meyerowitz Stories. It had Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson and it still didn’t really deliver anything.

Wordle in 3 starting with SNAKE in honor of my snakebit day yesterday. Hopefully things will stop crumbling around me. Only a select few of us will know what it means when I say that one of my OBDC drivers unceremoniously quit working. I did find a replacement that works, for the low, low price of $169 (versus free) but I can burn $17o of my time pretty fast fucking around with fixing shit.

Alrighty, off to the salt mine I go.

Wordle in 4 – not a bad guess in the end

Went to Station 7 firehouse (West End) to have dinner with Allan, that place is big & so weird being in there all by ourselves. The kitchen is big & very stainless steel. Traffic stunk getting down there – and Allan was actually working with another guy on narcotics for the drug bags, so we didn’t get to eat until around 8pm. The big stove/range is all gas, I’m very glad we decided to get the dual fuel with we got ours. Gas ovens just cook weird. But gas ont eh stove top is a necessity.

    • I have no problems with using my gas oven, other than the fact that it’s nearly 67 years old so “modern conveniences” such as a light, the timer, and the long-lost meat probe are all non-functioning. If/When I do renovations I will most like switch to convection with induction burners on top.

We went to Ocean Wave last night thinking it would be safe from VD but it was crazy busy. We go out every Tuesday for Date Night, it’s annoying that it fell on VD this week.

We finished Detectorists last night and I am sad that it’s over!

    • I’m sad it’s done too, though I am still looking to watch the Christmas special they released last year.

    • David says:

I know that feeling! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s such a lovely show.

      • steve says:

Where did y’all say that was streaming?

Barb, is that the station right on Lee St. they abandoned for a while?

I would love a gas stove! As I do a lot of the meals, I find an electric cooktop such a PITA. I have to use my laser thermometer to see if the damn thing is hot enough to start. I think we’d have to run a new line for an induction cooktop and I’m pretty sure the breaker box is slap full.

  9. Watching S4E8 of “True South”, it’s about Brunswick and St Simon Island, and features Tommy Tomlinson, author of “The Elephant in the Room”.

    • Huh, Hulu keeps adding odd episodes of “True South”, and IMDb is woefully out of date. I just looked at the episode list and Hulu now has S4E20? What happened to episodes 9-19?

Wordle in 4 starting with BLOAT.

What a freaking miserable 3 days. Two rounds of prep and 60 hours without food and it was still questionable if yesterday was going to be doable. And only down 3 lbs after all that. FML

Oddly enough, food doesn’t have much appeal now, but between the ailment from hell and the excessive prodding, I feel like crap (haha).

I watched many, many episodes of the Rookie the last few days. I love binge-watching a series. It’s akin to reading a book. Unfortunately I’m going to catch up soon and then I’ll have to wait for episodes. Sad face.

Back to the salt mines, I’m way behind on deadlines with the last 10 days of being really puny.

  11. Debbie says:

And we did watch two really good movies this weekend – Molly’s Game and Begin Again. Highly recommend both!
