I didn’t get quite the early start that I did yesterday, but did get in a good 3.5 mile walk. My walk included a brief period when I nearly mixed into a group of women who seem to gather on Friday morning for their walk; I almost felt like a creeper, though I had no reason feel as such.

I solved today’s Wordle in six attempts; my starter today was STORK

Wordle in 5. 4 out of 5 in the right places in 3!! MF!

I gave my CX bike the once over yesterday. When I rode it last week, I had put on a new rear tire (Thanks, TJ!) from some years ago and did some PM and lubrication. I still have the front brake leaver that sticks a bit. And the brake hoods are “dissolving”?? I ordered some new ones that will be in next week. Debbies Amazon account is still tied to my (her old) phone, so she actually bought them. Thanks, honey.

Packet pickup at Arches Brewing in Hapeville this evening. Just a slight forecast of rain for tomorrow, so not too sloppy. I think I’m ready.

Steve, same Wordle experience for me. Fucking Wordle roulette. I started with YEARN, for those playing along at home.

Today is a Thai massage day, and then a walk with a stranger who has interest in my experience in Ellijay. After that I’ll be headed out to Kennesaw to work for the afternoon. I’ll tip my cap your way when I pass by, Barb!

NYT added Suduko to their app, so now I guess I have yet another daily distraction in addition to the crossword, Mini, and Spelling Bee. Today’s Mini took 39 seconds.

And what is a Thai massage? I guess I never realized there were differences.

        • David says:

Thai massage is sometimes described as assisted yoga. You stay dressed and lay on a mat on the floor. The masseuse can do so much more with regard to stretching and flexibility versus a table massage. Table massages are good too but I receive much more benefit from Thai body work.

  2. Today is #93 for mom. I also find it interesting that I could move into a community for 55 and up (and have been eligible for a couple of years).

When my gram moved into a retirement community I was 35 and I was jealous! Although now that I’m older I think I’ll hold off for a few more years. 🙂

It’s snowing in SoCal, and we have record high temperatures in February.
    This world has gone crazy.

Didn’t do much last night – went for a walk, but my tweaked knee was just annoying enough that I decided to cut it short. Allergy/pollen season is starting, lots of blooming trees, etc. out there.

Thinking mattress shopping this evening in East Cobb, then going to a little Spanish tapas place in Roswell. They have a little happy hour menu until 7pm, and they have some of the tapas we had in Barcelona on special.

Oddity of the day yesterday- Debbie got an email that our air fryer has been RECALLED! I jumped through all the hoops last night- fill out the form, take 3 pictures including a handwritten note with the batch number and send it in. The recommend not using it, unplugging it and cutting OFF the power cord, just to be sure. But I love my air fryer!!!!

  5. I’m on mom’s bank accounts now, the frustrating process of getting accounts set up so I can get electronic statements to pay her bills has begun.

Staffing a half day search committee meeting. It would be boring but I find it interesting to to hear about the various candidates.

Following the discussion yesterday, I feel like once a person hits 80 they can eat whatever the hell they want. We try to eat right and exercise our whole lives, if you get to 80, it’s time to enjoy it!

Man this sucks, weather is great but I can’t ride. My knee pain is still off the charts and hobbling around is getting old. Going to see an orthopedist this afternoon to get a second opinion and plan for rehab.

Allan decided the neighbors have a bunch of leaves & shit piling up against the fence, causing us to have some drainage issues (& their dog could possibly jump the fence).
So – he hopped the fence to clean it up.
Blake came home & let the dog out.
Hank (the dog) decided he needed to protect the yard & bit Allan.
Nothing horrible, Blake didn’t realize Allan was out there (they have a very large yard)
    Always fun with the neighbors.
(should I ask for some eggs in payment for the bite> :0)

so annoyed – Turbo Tax changed something – and doesn’t like the Federal ID# on a 1099-DIV. So, it isn’t letting me E-File.
Its been the same for years of e-filing – now it doesn’t like it????
Now I’m on hold with Turbo Tax.
    ARGHHHHHHHHHH
