It was a good ride last night, but I am sore this morning so I am slow starting my day.
Tonight is my turn to provide dinner and I may go the takeout route by bringing some Pollo Primo (Pollo Supremo?) over to Betsy’s. Tonight’s dinner will be a somber one, because this will be the last one with Bella around. Bella has not been doing well lately and her vet visit last week revealed a cancerous growth on her spleen. Betsy has made the incredibly difficult decision that she has to let Bella go at the end of the week.

I finally got to meet the mom and baby as we needed to take the baby’s temp and put some iodine on the umbillicle cord stub. It took all 3 of us- Roxanne came over to assist. I held mom, Debbie held the baby and Rox did the deed. The baby really doesn’t want to have anything to do with people yet, so it was a wrestling match.
I think Fig’s days of sleeping int he bed are numbered. She wouldn’t settle down and Debbie finally put her in her box, where she spent the night. I think we all were happy.

Well, things have changed. Apparently I won’t have one more dinner with Bella. Betsy said that Bella had a very rough night, so today will be her last day. 🙁
Go with her for the appointment. Not something she should do alone.
Oh man that stinks about Bella, that is such a hard decision to make. Please tell Betsy I’m thinking about her too. Now Bella can go play with Snoop and all the other good dogs.

Funny, my second guess was the opposite. After two guesses I had one correct letter, and my third guess was one of the only words I could conjure given the letters I had remaining.
On another plane, I am in WLF and something visited last night and did some damage, eating all but two leaves of a Swiss chard plant, dug into my squash bed (and ate the seeds?), eating the tops of many carrots, chomping the top of a spinach plant, and eating many fig leaves off my newly transplants. The latter baffles me.

I have a suspicion it’s something larger, raccoon? armadillo?
back when I had a big garden, something(s) decided to eat almost everything. I had some snowpeas – they ate everything, leaving me a little of the stems sticking out of the ground. I gave up after that year.
I planted a bunch of ornamental cabbages in my yard one year and the next morning woke up to find a bunch nubs sticking out of the ground. I haven’t ever planted ornamental cabbages again since then.
That is certainly a plant loved by critters. I am thankful for having covers over my other Swiss chard, and lettuces, so I can eat them.
You seemed to have such a nice garden, I was surprised when you packed it in.
Btw, earmarking some tomato plant volunteers that I will give you is you want. They are small, so maybe in a few weeks when things are consistently warm?
let them grow a little – I can kill plants pretty easily, so thy probably need to grow some 1st at your house.
And now I discovered some of the pea shoots that are in a cage with wide openings were also eaten. Jesus Christ, these animals are greedy!
Is anyone else watching Beef on Netflix yet? It is so good. There’s been some ninja placement of 90s songs at certain points. I’m 4 episodes in out of 10.
Not me, for obvious reasons. I have started (re)watching “Alaska Daily” starring Hilary Swank. I saw the first six episodes over Thanksgiving, but then the show didn’t have any new episodes until February, so I forgot about it until the other day.
I’ve got all of this spring’s episodes recorded – just looked – they are done for the season – now I can watch!
I saw it yesterday when I finished off Friday Night Lights (I’m watching old TV series that people talked about back in the day that I never watched). Need to find my next one – any suggestions? Thinking 80s, 90s or 00s.

So sorry for Betsy that Bella is leaving us. It’s so heartbreaking when you lose them.
I just went and got another of my friend’s horses to see if having a buddy would calm the mom down. So far she’s even being standoffish with her – they are half-siblings that have been together for 20+ years, that’s a testament to just how stressed out she is. 🙁 I’ll be very glad when they all go home.
I’ve got the third of four therapy sessions for my knee this afternoon. It’s feeling much better unless I overdo it on uneven ground. Super happy that it’s on the mend.
