Rolling home today. It was a fun, and relaxing weekend during which I tried to forget the maladies of my life currently; more on those as I deal with them.

I solved today’s Wordle in three attempts; my starter today was BLADE.

  1. First of May, we all know that outdoor fucking starts today.

Barb, I will attempt to plant some cucumbers tomorrow. A day later than prescribed, but it will be my first opportunity to do so. 🙂

No wordle yet. Sitting at the cardiologist for a routine check in.

Friday i removed the bushes along the front of the house that had grown to the roofline. We left the stumps to see if they would come back on their own or need replacement.

Saturday, 21 miles with the gravel group out of Gay, then a beer at the brewery. Nice route, mostly gravel, easily followed. Over the covered bridge and past a big farm stand.

Sunday, watched a friend compete in the last stage at the KY 3 day. She bounced a few rails and finished nearly DFL, but she did it!

    good morning –
    weekend was busy –
Friday night we got my new E bike out for a little shake down ride up in Kennesaw on the Noonday Creek trail – rode 10 miles – its going to take a little getting used to with the electronic shifting. Then went to Anchor Bar for some wings.

Saturday did some yard work – planted a few herbs, peppers & tomatoes. Then decided to dig up some Hostas for Allan’s mom & Donna (aka breaststroke). This is not the time of year to dig them up, that was way too much work.
Then to a Parrothead anniversary party at The Wing.

Sunday was the Spring Dress ride (sort of pub crawl) – it was fun, but only 6 miles or so. 97 Estoria, the The T, then to Dean’s house, then Stan’s (with a stop off to see Wee Little Farm) then ended at Elder Tree. (Elder Tree was dead, I”m wondering how business is there the rest of the time)

    • Sally says:

The ride was fun. Not a whole lot of exercise but a fun day. Loved seeing Wee’s farm. More extensive than I thought. Hope Wee has a good trip home. Looking. forward to Survivor night at Barb’s.

    Wordle in 4.

Cardiologist to tweak a couple meds, but otherwise fine. See him again in 6 months.

  5. Hello from Buc-ees in Florence, South Carolina. I’ve gone I-95 to hit Buc-ees and stop for brunch.

    • steve says:

While the 95-20 route is longer, I bet it’s about the same time. That 85 corridor always seems bogged down.

    • David says:

I lived in Florence (and adjacent Darlington) for a few years in my youth.

    • Barb says:

People that go out of their way to stop at Buccee’s make me laugh.
But – since the route was about the same amount of time – why not.
Maybe Saturday on our driver to FL maybe we will stop at the one down 75 just for the hell of it. Who knows.
We will be “those people” stopping at Skyline Chili in Fort Myers while we are down there – Allan has to do that.

Wordle in 4 starting with TREAT. Speaking of treat, I did a 5.5 mile hike and 3.5 mile kayak trip arranged by Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park on Saturday. It was absolutely lovely. The trail is mostly flat, mostly shady and the kayaking was really much more of a gentle float back down the river. They’re doing this event once a month during the summer, and they also put on private events for groups of 4 or more. I am definitely going to do that again.

I realized last week that CHARM accepts donations (stuff I’ve been taking to Goodwill) so I’m going to make an appointment to take a carload of stuff over this week. I am deaccessioning as much stuff as possible. I saw a quote on Instagram recently that feels right, that we tend to only use 20% of our possessions. I’ll be arranging for a junk removal dude to take away a few pieces of unwanted furniture next week.

I did manage to get my older bike set up on the new to me trainer that my friend Stuart gave me. I couldn’t quite get it set up on my own, but Jamie helped me yesterday, so now I’m ready to virtually roll.

    • steve says:

Chattahoochee Bend SP is sorta in our neighborhood. Let us know when you come this way again. Sounds like fun!

      • David says:

Yes, I saw a sign for Luthersville, so I knew I was somewhat in your vicinity. It was a great event.

    • Barb says:

What does Charm do with the donations? do they have a store to sell them?

      Hike & kayak sounds fun.

      • David says:

There’s some charity that has a trailer at CHARM, so CHARM is just giving them space to park their trailer. I really don’t care where the stuff goes, CHARM is a lot easier for me to get to than Goodwill.

  7. Hello from the GA Visitor Center on I-20W

  8. Debbie says:

Wordle in 5, not the best day.

I spent most of the weekend glued to the livestream of the Kentucky 3-day. Our friend got very little camera time on cross country Saturday which is the pivotal phase. Saturday we had a viewing party at a friend’s office so it was a real bummer to only see her go over a couple jumps.

Back to work tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it.

  9. Stuck in traffic near Social Circle. Dangen!

  10. steve says:

The current owner of JEFDSDR posted a picture of her English houseguests- in the pool!

    Crazy Brits…
