What a whirlwind day.

Tammy and I rode 62 miles at a 16.5 mph average. Then, as you do, went for Mexican where I ate chicken fajitas and drank a 32 ounce Negra Modelo. Hey, I’m training for BRAG… After navigating shitty traffic home I was able to take a scant nap and thorough shower before getting back into shitty traffics to head to Barb’s.

Barb and Allan served up delicious turkey noodle casserole. Hilariously Sal and I both brought a bottle of white wine, and we both brought a Pinot Grigio; hers was better than mine.

Today? Friday? I am going to putter around WLF and waterproof my BRAG tent. Later this afternoon I expect to plop my butt on a barstool and have a beer or two with some buddies.

I solved today’s Wordle in five attempts; my starter today was CLIMB. I did very little climbing on yesterday’s ride, but started with that word anyway.

Survivor is over until the Fall, but – it was a good ending.

Your wines were very different for Pinot Grigio – and both from CA. Different wine makers have different ideas I guess. I actually thought yours tasted more like a sauvignon blanc.

We are hoping to go for a bike ride tonight after work….. we will see.

    • Thanks again for hosting. In the fall I will provide at least one dinner to share.

Thanks for hostingBarb. I liked both wines. Just different. Wordle in 4 starting with crash. I had 4 correct letters in the correct spots on the second guess but picked the wrong letter on the third. Took me awhile to figure out what they were trying to do on the Mini. Doh. Would love to join the hike tomorrow but working til 3. Might try and ride on Sunday.

I went over to my friend Sarah’s house to watch the Heat-Celtics game last night. She is a Heat fan because she grew up outside Miami, and of course I’m a Celtics fan. It was fun! We ordered wings from Fox Bros. I am generally not a fan of Fox Bros but the wings were pretty good.

Today Emory closes at 2:00 and we are hitting to road up to the cabin for three days. Kevin’s sister Kath and her husband drove up from Savannah last night, so it’ll be a fun weekend.

    • You can dis Succession all you want but NEVER say a bad word about Fox Bros!!! 😀 i actually haven’t eaten there in years, so I don’t know how it is these days.

      Have a wonderful weekend.

Jenka – just in time to be in the thick of traffic this afternoon!
Wave when you are going very slowly thru Marietta.
But – have fun in Ellijay – looks like a beautiful weekend to be up north.

      • Jenka says:

Yup, we have a lot of experience with the traffic, which is why we have a Peach Pass and take the express all the way past Woodstock up 575. It’s a lifesaver!

  3. Tent is as waterproofed as it will be for BRAG. I may have to stop for another can of spray at REI today.

This might be one of the dullest Memorial Day weekends for me as I have nothing planned. Monday would be my 24th Hash Analversary, but I probably won’t go to the hash. Steve, this means we’ve known one another for 24 years. How did that happen? 😀

  4. WLF is veeeeeeery weedy. Between now and my departure for BRAG I will rectify this.

Wordle in 4 starting with TASTE.

24 years? Jesus. Been around a while. Maybe ill get back in hashing shape for next year.

37 countries and 299 riders registered! I got to butcher Portuguese, Spanish, and Japanese yesterdy. Too many people speaking French, so i didnt even try.

TT today and tomorrow. RR Sunday and Monday and the team relay late Monday. Should be fun.

Roglic just swapped bikes before the last climb. The new bike has a 10-44 cog!

Today was a much needed massage day. So much so that I’ve parlayed that into an epsom salt bath. I have clearly been girding for yesterday’s dental appointment (that’s my first crown, so I had no frame of reference). I’ve also been girding for Sunday, which would have been my 30th wedding anniversary. I realized during one of my insomnia bouts this morning that I’ve been looking at it the the wrong way. It is an ending, but it is also a beginning. A start to the reboot of my life that I’ve been wanting for years now. The former love of my life was going to be traveling this weekend but changed her plans. It felt like a gift for her to be one state over on Sunday so I booked two nights in an AirBNB in Hayesville, NC, population 311. I’ve scheduled a goat yoga session in Blairsville on Sunday afternoon just so that I have something out of the ordinary to focus on that day. I’m treating this as a writing retreat for my current book.

Wordle took 5 tries starting with GRACE. All of my entries were in the right place or did not match, so no yellow squares for me today. I had all letters but the second one in 3 and had to pull the handle two more times before escaping my misery.

The po-po is out in force, so stay safe and law-abiding out there.

    • Unfortunately I’ve had multiple instances for getting crowns.

Have a relaxing and joyous weekend.

I too had nothing but green squares today and thought that I had cracked the nut on my fourth guess. Alas, I was incorrect about that.

Good reminder. No sense giving money away.

    • Barb says:

what the hell was the mini today? I could not figure it out

      • Mini in 1:12, most of which spent reading all of the clues to get the gist of what was going on.

      • David says:

Welcome to crossword hijinks! I finished hijinks! Today’s clues were meta, meaning the asterisks were clues about the clue. The Thursday NYT puzzles have all kinds of stunts like this.

        • David says:

I meant to say I finished in 50. I can’t see the entire comment when I post from my phone.

  8. Steve says:

It’s going to be in the low 50’s Sunday and Monday mornings! WTF, O? I am not packed for that.

    • Jenka says:

Whoa. This prompted me to check Ellijay weather, and that will also be chilly in the low 50s both mornings. Sunday it won’t even get higher than the mid-60s. Yikes!

    • David says:

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll pack accordingly.
