Dinner last night was an interesting affair. I brought over two Asian(ish) dishes — a ramen noodle/cabbage salad, and some air fryer tofu over a bed of rice and vegetables. I thought both tasted very good, though the tofu didn’t turn out as well as some of my previous attempts had. I didn’t actually use cabbage in the salad, instead I found two bags of a salad mix on special yesterday at Kroger and used them instead.

Speaking of my Kroger trip, in the clearance aisle I found some fancy pants pasta sauce severely discounted, so I bought six jars. Four of the jars were marked down from $5.22 to $0.94, and two were marked down from $4.12 to $0.74. Since each jar’s expiration date is some time in 2025 I think that I will have plenty of time to use them.

While at Betsy’s last night we watched the first to episodes of the Netflix documentary from last year’s Tour de France. If you like cycling I highly recommend it.

I solved today’s Wordle in six attempts; my starter today was LEARN. Thought I might be getting it in three, instead barely saved my ass.

I went over the cliff today in Wordle. I has the first 2 and 5th letters in 3, and couldn’t match another letter. C’est la vie.

Mini in 21 though. Today broke my longest Wordle streak yet of 94. I’m fine with that, now it won’t feel so precious when I’m traveling half of next month and will likely miss a day, particularly in Belize.

Wordle in 5 starting with inset. Such a cool June so far. My garden likes it. :). Started the easier of two puzzles that Paulie gave me. Was up late working on it. Just another thing to keep me from doing the things I really need to get done.

  3. Successful start to my day. I have driven to Tractor Supply in Conyers to get the fertilizer I like. Along the way I stopped for an egg and cheese biscuit at Mamie’s on Evans Mill Rd, and, took the M6 to a $15 emissions tester. Glad to report the M6 passed emissions again!

Wordle in 5 starting with AISLE. I saw that going south quickly, but pulled it out.

Being clever engineers, you would think that the driver and passenger foot pegs would be the same, right? Oh no, the passenger footpeg mount is bigger than the drivers, and once I got it out (by cutting the head off the pin and driving the rest out) I had to get out my cut off wheel and take off about a quarter inch of very high quality aluminum. Now it fits and I have a new tie down point for my dry bag straps. Geeze!

We also got through several episodes of the TdF series. I was thinking that the “ra ra, do it for the team” is a bit contrived. I could be wrong. Some amazing footage.

And on a related note, some 25 riders got tossed out of the amateur Giro for hanging on to cars on a big climb. Naughty, naughty.

Over an inch an a half of rain so far….

crazy lightning & thunderboom yesterday afternoon – all of our GFIs were tripped. I think it also killed my DVR box – it will not power back up. Everything else seems to be ok. We have a new DVR box being sent from AT&T – only show recorded that we are really bummed about is The West Wing episodes – we are slowly working our way thru that.

  6. Since reporting on them earlier in the week I have neither seen nor heard the robin family under my deck. I want to believe this is a good thing, but I am weary that it is not.

  7. Amazon keeps over-promising and under-delivering. I ordered a small picnic table for the patio in WLF and was told it would be delivered tomorrow. I just received an email telling me it may be delivered Saturday or Sunday, and if I haven’t received it by then I can get a full refund. This is not very promising…
