Pretty boring day around WLF and the ITP Estate yesterday. I puttered, waited for rain to stop, ate, went for a three mile walk, and watched a lot of tv.

My physical malady of the week is a return of some discomfort in my left eyelid due to swelling. Could be the start of another chalazion, only time will tell…

I’m debating whether or not to ride tonight. I have a lot to do today, the weather will be iffy, and I still don’t know in what direction my eyelid is going.

I solved today’s Wordle in three attempts; my starter today was GRIND.

Tuesday Take of the Tape: 197.2 pounds (0.0 from last week’s weigh-in); considering how much food I’ve been shoveling into my mouth this is fine.

Wordle in 4 starting with MINCE. I hope your eye takes a turn for the better.

Wordle in 3 starting with GAMES. Still dog sitting a pretty stubborn dog. Walked down to my neighbor Frank’s last night and had a lively chat. Otherwise nothing too exciting here. Off today. No plans as to what I might accomplish today. Follow up appt with the Pulmonary doc to see why I still can’t breathe. So frustrating. Hope Barb won some money at BINGO.

  3. The war continues…

Had to discard at least six nicely-sized tomatoes which had chunks removed from them by critters. I’ve brought a dozen in house to see if they will ripen on the counter because I have no confidence that the critters won’t eat anything which is available them. There are still more on the plants, so I will have to keep a vigilant watch.

Already planning to grow slicing (large) tomatoes in a cage next year. Yes Virginia, I am expecting WLF 2024 to be a thing.

  4. Oh yeah, I watched an episode of “Jury Duty” on Amazon Prime last night. I wanted to like it, but it’s the same exact premise as “The Joe Schmo Show” put out in the early 2000s on Spike TV. Essentially everyone is an actor except for one poor sap who thinks it’s real and is manipulated into uncomfortable situations constantly.

Yesterday was fairly busy workwise – and with mom & dad (& Connie) it was a little stressful.

Mom took a little tumble in the morning – we really have no idea what happened – she didn’t get hurt, but still. Makes me wonder how often stuff like this happens. She has gotten very feeble, but she wanted to get up on her own, it took a while. Her arm & hip are sore today (she got up to go to the bathroom, complained & wondered why she is so sore. I gave her some ibuprofen & said to go back to bed.

My brother had his foot surgery yesterday- everything went fine – he is at his apartment recuperating.

I did get 1 big bag of old sweaters that I know my mom will never wear again out of the house & dropped at Salvation Army. I needed to find a drawer to put my clothes so I’m not digging thru my travel bag all day.
We will see what today brings……..

  6. Today’s WLF harvest, in addition to the aforementioned green tomatoes, has been a handful of marble-sided ripe tomatoes, three jalapeños, two yellow squash, and five cucumbers (which I don’t need currently).

By week’s end I see a zucchini which should be ready, perhaps some beans, a solo green bell pepper, and any tomatoes which may have ripened.

Sorry I’m late. Don’t take almost 2 weeks off and expect to get much done the first day back.

I’ve been escorting a contractor who is inspecting all our low voltage cable plant. Just the top of the building took all morning. More tomorrow. This is part of a 20 year building systems review.

Not much to report from yesterday. All the ponies stayed where they belong and the dogs didn’t wander off much. I made a chicken and noodle casserole for dinner last night. I’ve had a hankering and finally pulled the trigger. Came out pretty well.

    Wordle in 4, streak of 1. F’ers.

I hear ya, I had my longest streak of 94 get broken, but I’m OK with that, I don’t need to get caught up in artificial measurements like that. Streaks are fun while they last.

At the BA airport waiting for our flight home. There’s no Skyclub but we walked up to the American Express lounge and managed to get in with a minimal fee. Total win, considering there’s not much in the way of restaurants in this airport. It was a fantastic trip, but I’m so ready to go home! Our flight lands at 5:45 am – blerg.
