I had a fattening weekend that has pushed me over the edge. While I got some exercise during the beautiful weather, it was not enough to overcome the massive amount of calories I consumed.

I solved today’s Wordle in three attempts; my starter today was AISLE.

Connections: complete fail, X > X > X > X
I was fixated on, and then defeated by, the Purple category.

Wordle in 4, but ended my streak because I forgot to play yesterday in the midst of the highland games.
It was a great weekend with a great crowd. Llast nights strike party was pretty well attended, but we got a late start so will have a long day today. I guess if we don’t get it all done today we get to do it again some more tomorrow but hopefully we get it all done today. I’m ready to be home sleeping in my own bed.

    It was a great weekend.

  2. At one of the bars in which I drank this weekend the bartender gave me the device to pay and their default tip setting was 30%. This has gotten out of hand. I consider myself to be a generous tipper, but quickly tapped the 20% button prior to finalizing my transaction.

You really have to watch the receipts…if they tack on a service fee…I naturally lower the tip. Took me all 6 tries to get Wordle starting with CLOUD. 2 mistakes in Connections. Blue, green, yellow, purple. Worked on Saturday and then dinner with the October birthday gals plus Barb. Lurker came in the store. Hope he still likes his shoes. Hashed on Sunday. Long trail thru thick woods, swamps and creeks. THE SPIDERS!!!!! That’s all I’m going to say about that. I totally skipped out on the MANDATORY staff meeting. Who holds a staff meeting on a Sunday?

My shoes are great, thank you, Sally. I greatly appreciate your patience with me. I felt old and out of touch seeing all of the “high stack” running shoes. None of them worked for me, in the end I stuck with what I know which was some pretty basic Brooks that were on sale to boot! I wasn’t shopping by price, it’s just the fancy shoes were too fancy for me. I don’t need THAT much help walking. 🙂

Saturday night birthdays dinner at Rose & Crown was nice, but just like Tasty China, their prices have gone up quite a bit. We sat outside upstairs, upstairs is more of a bar atmosphere. The downstairs is finer dining, so I can just guess at how pricy it is.
Parking lot isn’t very big, so it forces people to valet. I HATE that. We got lucky & someone was leaving as we got there, so we snagged a free spot.

Women of the Woods this morning. Should be a nice morning for a hike in the woods.

Wow. On the day when Paulie totally whiffs Connections I get it without a single mistake: green>purple>blue>yellow. Connections is a fickle mistress.

My weekend was great. General Muir as usual Friday night. Dropped Finn off at camp at 9:00 am up in Winder (which, by the way, is practically in Athens). We spent the day napping, getting mani-pedis, and going to the Albert for our one big meal. Sunday we went to the Marley House for brunch, I haven’t been there in years and it was just the same. Picked up Finn at 3:00. I had put a roast in the crockpot in the morning so that was our dinner.

This will be a busier than usual week. We are in the process of undergoing our 10 year re-accreditation and the evaluation team is doing the official site visit this week. Today the team arrives and there is a big dinner tonight.

  6. Listening to this week’s “Smartless” podcast and Wil Arnett just referenced eating at OK Cafe.

Wordle in 4. I had a near death experience yesterday with Wordle in 6, that hasn’t happened in a while. At least my steady Wordle stream of 5s seems to have shifted. I shan’t be bothered by that other extracirricular. I peeked at it and said “Nope, you’re not crushing my soul today, motherfucker!”

I did make it to the new Krispy Kreme on Ponce after sourcing shoes from Sally on Saturday. How’s s that for some alliteration? 😉 Inside the building mostly has the same vibe as before. Because I have a 14 year old boy, we did a “double-down” where we first went to Sublime Donuts (that’s our favorite place and we haven’t been for a while) and then to Krispy Kreme. Sublime has nothing to worry about. The hot glazed donut right of the line was pretty dang good though.

  8. Today’s album relisten is “Core” from Stone Temple Pilots.

  9. Saddened because I found a dead lizard in a compost bag. Poor guy or gal.

  10. Barb says:

Connections – was not my day – started with green not working, then yellow got me

Wordle – 5 tries to get it.
    Oh well.
I have no streaks – since I only play on my computer here during the week.

Got “roped” into hosting a going away party form Mango & Kat on Saturday 11/4.
I told Mango we can host, but we aren’t cooking up much, so he will cater something, and we ask people to bring food, etc.

We are doing the Alzheimer’s Walk at the Battery that Saturday morning, (if anyone is interested, its just a 5K walk, I can send you the link to join our team). Then we tailgate while we wait for the parking deck to empty out, and maybe go get brunch or lunch after that.
Then – get ready for a party.

  12. Done choring for the morning. Good morning of manual labor, now treating myself to lunch. Today is chick’n and waffle.

  13. Holy fuck, my monthly health insurance premium is set to go up $300/month, from $698/month to $998/month. Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. Time to return to the Health Care Marketplace.

  14. I’m still sick, sick again? Perhaps I should start using that expense healthcare.
