Not a whole lot to report from yesterday. The highlights of the day were putting up my minimal Christmas decorations, getting an hour in on the trainer, and hanging out with Betsy for a little while.

As we march toward the Winter solstice there isn’t much happening in WLF. I have cleaned up almost all of the summer crops, and have a few edibles out there currently in the form of kale and mustard greens. Unfortunately my struggles with lettuce continue, so I once again sowed some seeds yesterday. I think I will do a seed purge in 2024, ad the germination rate for many seeds decreases with age.

With my leftover soup, today for lunch I am going to make this Apple, Cranberry, and Cashew Salad as a side dish. I’m going Mexican tonight, at home, by using a can of refried beans and an Old El Paso Soft Taco dinner kit.

Wordle: four, my starter was FIGHT
Connections: perfect, Blue > Green > Yellow > Purple

    Wordle in 3, Conniptions FAIL!

We’re watching “Lessons in Chemistry” on AppleTV and hopefully will suffer through to get to better parts. We have hope.

Debbie made a lovely spaghetti sauce last night with some Italian sausage we had.

More lab results came back- PSA .04 (which is probably really zero) and A1C at pre-diabetes level. That will need some work. Yech.

    -FP

    • I really enjoyed reading Lessons in Chemistry, but am finding it difficult to return to the tv show after watching the first episode

Probably should have gotten Wordle in three, but zigged instead of zagged.

I coulda had Wordle in 2, but it took 3. 2 missed on Connections, the thought fuck this shit crossed my mind but I stuck with it.

I am finally reclaiming my garage today by making a run to CHARM to unload the cardboard and other stuff from the “wife’s” move back in September. I also have an interview with a vampire today, some people call it “bloodwork”.

Se second chapter of my book is finally out of my head. I need to seriously pick up the pace.

    • I went to CHaRM last week and then proceeded to unpack a table I bout which was packed with styrofoam. Oh well, this will encourage me to drink my bottled beer and then I’ll go again soon.

I have confirmation that Kaiser received my payment, but, it appears the Gubment has sent me something in the mail today about Medicaid(?). More to follow. I will schedule a physical in 2024.

      • David says:

I’m guessing you qualify for Medicaid based upon your income level, or rather lack thereof. 😉

        • Yes, that was the initial outcome when I tried to sign up for healthcare next year. But taking Medicaid meant I couldn’t sign up for a different (better?) plan, so I worked with a Healthcare.gov person to make it so I could decline Medicaid.

    • David says:

My car is slap full and ready for CHARM at 10. This is so satisfying. It may be the spark I’ve needed to get back on the decluttering bandwagon. I’m taking much more than just cardboard. As an added bonus I’ll be able to park in my garage again. But more importantly, the house feels a bit lighter.

      • steve says:

Amazing what a little cleaning can do for you. Good job!

I’m looking out at our burn pile that really needs to go. The tree I burned a couple weeks ago was quite satisfying. Now that it;s colder out, that will be easy.

        • David says:

Y’all *always* have something on fire out in the country. It’s county ordinance or something, isn’t it? 😉 Seriously, yes, it definitely feels good to lighten the load. I’ve started chipping away at moving my “wife’s” library of books out of my house. Good grief those things are heavy.

    • David says:

Blood sucked, flu shot inserted, back to the salt mine.

  3. Baked a batch of refrigerated biscuits this morning. Not only did I wind up with biscuits for breakfast, I heated the house slightly in the process. 🙂

freaking busy morning work wise- thought I’d say hi

Old hasher friends Sauercrotch & Purple Peter Easter are coming in for the night from SC – we can’t seem to get a camping date on the books, so – dinner tonight will work.
She is going to some race car something at Road Atlanta this weekend – not bringing her little Mini Cooper race car, so I’m not sure what the event is. I guess I’ll find out tonight.

  5. Returned home from a couple of chores. I wasn’t as industrious as I expected to be, but I just didn’t feel like spending more money.

Turned on an episode of “Father Brown” and thought I recognized an actor, turns out he played the Richmond manager who gets fired and replaced by Ted Lasso. lol

    • Barb says:

in case you have Hulu –
Fargo season 5 has the actress that plays Keeley as the main character.
      She is a bad ass.
They are only on episode 4, and they drop a new one every week. ITs killing me, I’d rather binge.

But – you should watch all the other seasons too –
And – I just rewatched the movie a couple days ago

      • I saw that she and Jon Hamm are on this season. I do have Hulu but am hesitant to watch.

        • Barb says:

          why?
do you not like crazy people & shotting and killing and that sort of thing?
(there is no woodchipper – at least so far)

          • I am such a pussy when it comes to blood/gore/violence. I trusted the Movie and it woodchippered me, now I am reluctant to believe the tv show won’t do the same.

          • David says:

I’m right there with you, Paulie, I don’t usually like blood and gore, and I really do not like horror movies…I’ve seen enough scary stuff in my life, I don’t need to take in more. Fargo is so well done that it’s an exception to my rule. And although what they can show on TV is pretty loose these days, there are still some limits, so I think you’d be safe with the TV show. And of course, these days there are far more than thirteen channels of shit on the TV to choose from.

          • Barb says:

Its definitely a cable show -I don’t know how they would do it on a network channel.

I’m not a horror movie person, I do NOT like things that jump out at me, but -just blood & gore & that sort of thing, I can watch that all day long.

    • Soup and salad lunch finished, yes I eat early. So good! Now debating how I will spend the rest of my day; exercise must somehow be incorporated.

  6. Jenka says:

    Busy day today!

Yesterday they installed some of the plumbing for the bathroom. I am glad to see progress. We went to Surin for dinner because I still can’t stand to bring food into the house when it’s so dirty.

I got rid of so much shit getting ready for this reno that I think I’m covered in the de-cluttering department until the end of the year!

Wordle in 4, perfect Connections – Blue, green, yellow, purple

Working my makeup day for taking Monday off. It’s a slow day which is painful. Nonstop Christmas music doesn’t help.

Today marks 16 years since we moved to the country.

  8. Letter from Medicaid informs me that my claim has been denied. Oh no Medicaid, I broke up you with you!

  9. Barb says:

    finally free time –
    Blue – Green – Purple – Yellow – PERFECTO!!!
    that was pretty amazing.

And – Wordle in 3 – what an awesome crazy guess!
