My pizza last night was pretty good, but I don’t have a lot of experience making pizza at home. I need to learn to stretch the dough thinner, and have something like semolina flour to keep the dough from sticking to the pan on which I bake it. But, it was pizza, so how bad could it be?

Wordle: five, my starter was DOUGH
Connections: perfect, Green > Purple > Yellow > Blue

  1. Barb says:

At the airport, 5:39am flights way too early.

    • Ha! Safe travels home.

I’m still in bed, listening to the heater turn on often to heat the house, as I try to convince myself that I really should get up soon since I have a couple of chores to accomplish today.

    • David says:

I’m a fan of the first flight out, but um, 5:39 AM take-off is a bit much even for me. I guess it depends where I was headed. I do have 7:00 AM flight to NYC a week from today.

    • Jenka says:

You all are crazy. There is nothing that would induce me to take a 5:39 am flight.

  2. Barb says:

    Yellow- green- blue- purple
(I don’t know if I’d ever have gotten purple)

Wordle in 4 with DOUGH, wasted the 3rd guess because my brain is not awake.

    • Todays purple is a common “gotcha” on the show Only Connect, and I guess Connections as well, so, I’m always looking for it.

Your brain is working better than mine, it took me five attempts!

    • Jenka says:

Wordle in 4 using Sally’s word.

Connections totally perfect! Like Barb, I never would’ve gotten purple. Blue > yellow > green > purple.

  3. David says:

Wordle in 3 for a change, no misses on Connections. The purple category is usually too cute for its own good which means it tends to he the dregs for me.

I am seeing first hand why I have been avoiding Power BI like the plague. However the time has come for me to learn it, so I’ll continue to grit my teeth. I got half of a new presentation written yesterday. If I can finish it up today I can set that shit aside for a while.

  4. Sally says:

Wordle in 5. Should have had it in two. hahahaha. I started with SAUCE. Too many possibilities for that first letter after getting the last 4. Kept guessing wrong. Perfect in Connections. I’m with you Barb, I don’t think I would have figured out that purple group. Blue, Yellow, Green, Purple.

I had pizza last night too. Not sure where they got it from but somewhere on the Smyrna Village Circle. It was really good. Fun Holiday light run. Smyrna really does it up big with the lights.

Going to test my creek this morning. It’s going to be so cold. Then errands and a little Christmas shopping. GUTS run tonight at Kennesaw Mountain.

    • David says:

What is involved in creek testing? Skinny dipping? 😉

      • Sally says:

Not sure I’m up for the polar plunge! I test the creek for Ph, Dissolved oxygens, conductivity, temp, etc. The vitality of the creek. I would like to be able to test for bacteria such as e-coli but have yet to get that certification. It’s through the Georgia Adopt a Stream program.

    • Barb says:

I’m actually going to the Smyrna Wine Market tonight for a tasting (& pickup some wine for Annette) so I’ll check out the lights

  5. Bob says:

Channeling my inner Sally I got Wordle in 2 starting with RIOTS. Talk about a wild ass guess for #2!

Still on the fence for Florida next week. I do want to see family and maybe ride where it is warmer but the thought of driving down there in traffic gives me the shakes.

    • Oh so you cheated today? 😛

I keep looking at the forecast for the Tampa Bay Area and am trying Tod decide if cycling will be in my future down there.

    • Sally says:

Haha….I don’t question your WORDLE in 2. It happens. Good for you. Yeah, driving to Florida and traffic sucks. I may still go down to Cape San Blas next week.

    • Jenka says:

We will be flying out on Christmas day about noon. The airport tends to be busier than you’d think on Christmas. Not nearly as busy as usual, but still a lot more crowded than one would expect.

  6. Jenka says:

Not only did some of the drywall happen yesterday, but my contractor tells me that 2/3 of the counters are going to be installed today! COUNTERS! That, like, I can put a plate on! I can only dream of such luxury.

Traffic is so light this week, I am loving it!

  7. Home from Waschsalon. My fear that they’d have frozen pipes was unfounded, but I think the brutal weather kept some customers away. Since my second chore involved entering a grocery store I chose to defer doing it until the new year.

  8. Just received a $9 credit from GCN+ due to their service shutdown effective tomorrow.

  9. Sally says:

Just finished testing my creek. Dang that water was cold! But warmer than the air temperature.

  10. Steve says:

Wordle in 5 and clear connections.

Back from the new to me dentist with a clean bill. Nice folks. Debbie has been a patient for a while, but since mine retired, I finally got it together to go.
