I took the Federal Holiday to finish my latest jigsaw puzzle, as well as meet my buddies at The Whelan for a few beers. I wanted to eat dinner at The Whelan too, but wasn’t hungry while I was there.

Today I may be going to the Waschsalon, and will be hunkering down and cooking dinner at home. Who knows, I may also dip my toes back into the world of software development again since I have become frightened by the quick and continual demise of my savings.

Wordle: six, my starter was CLAIM
Connections: FAIL, Blue > Yellow > X > X

Apparently my brain has taken a Federal Holiday today.

Wordle in 4 and should have been 3. Connections perfect.

Debbie was all concerned about the weather this morning being slippery, but it was only damp so far. I did see 34 degrees as I drove, but it was 60 yesterday, so the roads would have had a way to go to be froze. Not so tomorrow…

The barber is closed on Mondays, so I just dusted off the scooter and made a Home Depot run and stopped for BBQ on the way home. Shoulda ridden the rode yesterday, but managed 35 minutes on the trainer.

Decided the kitties in the man cave need a space heater tonight. We had a heating pad which didn’t have an auto-shutoff and that was perfect, but it’s disappeared.

    Stay warm.

I can’t believe they called off school today.
We will see what happens as the day goes on……..

We don’t have the tools or infrastructure here in Georgia to deal with dangerous weather and road conditions. I think they are a little gun shy from that year kids were stuck at school over night.

Wordle in 3 starting with DANCE. Perfect connections: yellow, green, blue, purple. I would have never gotten purple. That was just dumb.

Spent the long week-end in a cabin at Fort Mountain State Park. Did a lot of hiking taking in the views and company. Not sure what I will do today. Not enthused to do any outside work. Plenty to keep me busy inside. Waiting on Wee to hand over a jigsaw puzzle! :). GUTS run tonight.

Been working on this year’s design for the Chattahooligan BRAG jersey. It’s going to be a good one! Big Reveal on June 1st! lol

Hope Barb’s family is staying warm in Iowa!!

Yay for the Lions winning a playoff game!! 1st time in 32 years.

    • But the State owns salt/brine trucks, and is prepared to use them. Maybe that’s for the northern regions of the state?

The puzzle I finished is the hot air balloon one from Aldi. I will hold onto is and pass it along.

    • Barb says:

my brother’s car has something frozen – so he said he was going to have to get it towed tome fixed.
Besides that – they are just hunkered down inside.
its going to be a balmy 7 degrees today up there in Iowa.

  4. David says:

    I’ve got nuthin’ today.

  5. Barb says:

nothing too exciting over here in Marietta –
    its cold & wet out.

    Wordle in 4
    yellow – green – blue – purple –
and I agree with Sal – not so sure about the purple category.

  6. I intend to make an improvised Instant Pot curry today. Because I am trying to avoid going to a grocery store and use up items already in the ITP Estate, I am substituting butternut squash for sweet potato, and Greek yogurt for coconut milk, so the taste may be “interesting”.

Sorry I missed yesterday. I had a magnificent long weekend! Saturday Kevin and I went to get mani-pedis. Sunday we went to Muchacho for lunch and then went to the movies to see Mean Girls. Yesterday we watched all the footballsing in our pajamas. It was amazing!

Today is spring Convocationand the first day of the new semester. Lots of dignitaries floating around today, guess I should be on my best behavior!

  8. Debbie says:

Wordle in 3 starting with aisle and perfect connections – yellow, blue, green and then stupid purple by default.

Working today and glad to be inside. Our vets and techs are out in the brunt of it. My friend who has a small animal clinic offered me a job. It’s much closer to the farm and more money so it’s a no brainer, but I’m still mulling it. I enjoy the atmosphere at my current job, but it’s definitely got some issues – like every job does. Trying to decide if I want to jump to a new fire.

Horse shopping is not going well. I’m getting bummed about it.

Y’all stay warm! Hope everyone’s pipes stay intact and your furnaces keep up! I expect it will be chilly tonight in our house. The heat pump just can’t handle it when the temps are this low.
