Disappointed in myself, I got home from having a few beers with my buddy Hank and was too tired to gather my stuff for today’s journey. Therefore I will be hitting the road later than desired today.

Happy Super Bowl (commercial) watching this Sunday. I wonder if Taylor Swift will be in attendance? I do hope that the show her often is she is. Actually, I couldn’t care less if she is there…

Wordle: five, my starter was DINGY
Connections: perfect, Green > Yellow > Purple > Blue

Wordle in 5 starting with GUIDE. Two mistakes in Wordle: Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple.

Visited the Good Word Brewery for a beer and some grub. Mostly German Style beers but they did have a pretty good IPA and the food was delicious. The show was good too. Songwriters in the Round with Carter Sampson, Amelia White and Michelle Malone. They played single guitars and no bands. Steve, I did tell Michelle you wanted me to tell Doug Keyes hello and that you were neighbors. Her response was: “You have friends that live way down there!” hahahaha.

There’s a Saturday Stride at the store with Asics in the morning so I have to there by 7. May hash on Sunday if not raining too hard.

Safe travels Wee. Have fun in Iowa Barb.

    • Steve says:

Hahahahaha.. yes you do! (I swear I saw Doug post something about that show, and I thought he was going.)

  3. At my normal first stop, Buc-ee’s because I got really hungry and had to stop.

Wordle in 5. Fuck that Conniptions shit.

I have to spend the day in Macon unexpectedly thanks to a last minute mock trial competition switch-around. My publisher will appreciate the forced downtime. I do some walking along the river as well.

On Sunday I am fetching and returning my β€œwife’s” 83 year old stepmother from/to Carrollton to zee Hamilton. I am thrilled to get to see Hamilton again. Claire is a wonderful person and I look forward to facilitating this for her.

    Safe travels, Paulie.

Yay for Friday! Plus it’s a feral weekend! We are going to try to go to Rathbun’s tonight. If you don’t get there before 6:00 there’s no hope of getting a table in the bar area, so it all hinges on when I can get out of the office.

I had my monthly therapy session last night, then I went home and made a healthy stirfry with chicken. I ordered groceries yesterday and 75% of it was ingredients to make Super Bowl snacks!

  6. Bob says:

I hope Taylor makes it to the Super Bowl and they show her all over the place. The people having a meltdown over this is hilarious!

Bowling league tonight and with the rains this weekend I have no plans. I’ll see what sort of random shenanigans I can muster up πŸ™‚

    Safe travels Paulie!

    • Barb says:

Taylor has to fly back from Tokyo after a concert – AND find a parking place for her jet. (Vegas airport is full I heard) I love all the crazy stories I never heard about the Super Bowl because of her.

But- I want the 49ers to win- it would be awesome for Iowa State QB Brock Purdy to get a ring. But – I like either team, so it really doesn’t matter.

      • Debbie says:

I’m a Swifty now so I’ll not watching for Taylor and the commercials. πŸ™‚

      • Bob says:

The only thing she will have to deal with is jet lag. Flying a private jet with a comfortable bed, private chef, and anything she could possibly need would not be tough in my book πŸ™‚
And I am willing to bet the NFL will make arrangements for her plane.
Either way, it should be a good game and I’m looking forward to watching it.

    • Jenka says:

Same, I hope they show her several times and let the assholes fester. Why do people care if they show a pop star in the stands? They aren’t missing part of the game?

      • Why keep showing her. It’s not a big deal for her to be at a football game, lord knows she can afford it. Hell, she probably is comped the ticket!

        • Bob says:

That is 100% marketing. She is one of the most well known people on the planet and is bringing new eyes to football. NFL would be silly to not show her at games.
I’m sure the NFL has a suite ready for her for this game.

          • David says:

Heh, you couldn’t pay pay me to watch the Superbowl. Well, maybe I could be bought. I sure as hell never watch the Superbowl voluntarily. I have a personal policy against watching other people, especially millionaires, exercise on TV. πŸ™‚

I have found the Superbowl Sunday is an excellent time to run errands, there’s no traffic or lines anywhere once the pre-game begins! πŸ™‚

          • Jenka says:

Okay, but how do you feel about Super Bowl snacks? Like nachos, pigs in blankets, etc. Because that would convince me even if I didn’t like football. I am making a plethora of tasty snacks.

          • David says:

Oh, I am down for the snacks for sure. Erin used to make a 7 layer buffalo chicken dip that was amazing.

          • Barb says:

maybe I’ll make some pigs in a blanket – that could be fun for my parents!
finger foods – always goes away!

  7. Debbie says:

My long post keeps getting rejected.

Wordle in 5 starting with WORDY. Conniptions.

Yesterday was a good day for me. Details redacted.

    • David says:

Well, Debbie, the first rule of ITP blogging is that you simply cannot write about happiness and light. What is this good day you speak of? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ Seriously, yay for your good day!

  8. Steve says:

Wordle in 5 and I’m with you, David. Conniptions can suck it.

I’ve actually been working this morning and it’s been making my head hurt! Puzzles that don’t make sense!

Another sad attempt at running yesterday. My legs don’t feel too bad today, so maybe that’s something.

Since Debbie was at book club last night, I took myself out to dinner at… truck stop Mexican! A very good carnitas quesadilla and margarita (once I got home).

In the office tomorrow to swap 6 switches. Should be a quick day.

    Safe travels, Paulie

  9. Safely through the first part of the Georgia Speed Trap. Made a rest area pit stop to pee.

  10. Jenka says:

Wordle took me all 6, I had the first 3 letters for the whole thing and just kept guessing wrong for the last 2 letters. So frustrating! At least I got it.

Connections with one mistake: yellow > green > blue > purple. Purple was dumb, as usual.

  11. David says:

Basing out of Joe’s today, I need to get this damned chapter out of my head.

  12. Steve says:

TicketBastard is now an 18% surcharge to face value of the ticket. What a racket. At least part of Debbie’s birthday present is bought- Princess Bride with the Atlanta Symphony! I get a symphony fix and she gets a PB fix!

  13. David says:

Annndddd here’ s my cue to move on from Joe’s. They’re playing an ear-bleeding remake of the White Stripes “Seven Nation Army” that borders on sounding like Muzak. Ugh.

  14. Sally says:

Took me over an hour to go 7 miles this morning. I almost turned around and went back home until traffic cleared up. But I did the great circle route and got to work. Not a great start to my week-end.

  15. Hello from Palm Harbor, Florida where all I am concerned with at the moment is the potential swelling of my eyelid (again).

DeBine Brewing is my third stop β€” Buc-e’s, Rest Area, DeBine β€” since leaving the house a little after 6am this morning. I must buy gas after leaving here, and before unloading the M6 at the Florida house. I took the semi-scenic route, getting off I-75 and headwind southwest to US19 after Lake City, Florida.

  16. Barb says:

work is busy – had to get a grocery store run in this morning.
Parents are now awake, we didn’t get to bed until 1130pm ish – the late flight made it tough. I thought maybe they’d sleep later.
Mom shocked me, she got dressed (shoes & everything) all by herself – when I was here in December she always needed some help. I guess the Parkinson’s meds are helping.

Breakfast (& maybe lunch) for me in a little while

FORGOT TO HIT SEND A WHILE AGO

  17. Ha!

Glad things are somewhat okay out there.

I am going to skip grocery shopping for Florida house until Sunday? Eh, I’ll probably go tomorrow. Tonight I will cook something simple, like macaroni and cheese, for myself at the house for dinner.

    • Barb says:

I seriously thought about making some mac n cheese tonight.
but- I am a firm lover of Kraft Deluxe – and Aldi doesn’t sell that.
I’ll have to go to HyVee one of these days soon

But- I’m going to make a chicken, broccoli casserole – soft foods work best for my dad these days – his teeth are a mess. But- what do you expect at 93.75 years old.
