On Saturday night I stayed in and watched The Irish Pub before toddling off to bed. Another 2013-era documentary, this one interviewed Irish pub owners and patrons, of some pretty old pubs around Ireland.

Yesterday I intended to go to Fairburn to visit Cochran Mill Brewing, who were having a free Irish food festival and darts tournament. In the end I decided that I didn’t want to go it alone.

I had an interesting day of games yesterday, failing mightily at Connections by getting the blues and then nothing else. I then played Wordle, starting with STAKE, which provided four properly-placed letters. Three guesses later I finally landed on STATE after playing STARE and STAGE.

Wordle: five, my starter was TRULY
Connections: perfect, Blue > Yellow > Green > Purple

  1. Even though I am feeling incredibly fat today, I finally had a bit of hunger and made myself some waffles for breakfast.

Trying to figure out how I am going to get exercise on this rather drab day.

  2. Sally says:

Waffles sound good! I had oatmeal. :). Just put on some shoes and walk out the door!!!!

Got my taxes done and damn I owe the feds some money.

Wordle in 5 starting with DEPOT. 2 mistakes in Connections: green, blue, purple, yellow. I had great Wordles over the week-end but Conniptions got me.

Hope Bob’s liver is still functioning and David had a good time out west.

Sounds like Barb had a busy week-end with two hikes.

Had a rather large mole cut off this morning complete with stitches! Waiting for the numbness to wear off.

    • Look at Barb, the hiking queen! I should probably try the Meetup group again some time.

Owie! In regards to the mole removal.

I intended to take my financial paperwork to my tax preparer today, and then I saw that some tax paperwork from a former employer is supposed to be delivered today in the mail — a bit late, imho…

I want to hike this week, but damn the weather forecast doesn’t look good for the greater Atlanta area. Might I expand my range?

      • Barb says:

well – Saturday was just a walkabout – from Atlanta Cycling (Allan had to talk to them about parts for the fire dept bikes) up to The Battery – beer stop at Terrapin – then back to the bike shop. Also had post 5.5 mile walk beer & snacks at Laseters.

Sunday was a real hike – went up to Pine Log Creek trail in Rydal, GA. Sign lied, or my watch lied – sign says 4.15, watch said 5 miles. It goes out to a small quarry pond with a rock that looks like a frog. A good bit of up & down, but not too much. Since we are going up to the Hike Inn on 3/14, thought we ought to do a real hike. It was a nice day for it.

  3. Barb says:

wordle – took me all 6, and I almost guessed the 6th one wrong too (had 2 choices of words that would work)

  4. Played around in WLF for a bit. Boy howdy is it humid out there! Of course, lugging around more weight than I have in four years isn’t helping matters either.

  5. Sally says:

Forgot to mention the Indoor Track World Championships were this week-end. My cousin placed 5th in the 3000. 🙂

  6. Bob says:

Wordle in 5 starting with TIGER, quite the walk through
    Perfect connections blue-green-yellow-purple

Asheville was fun as hell, nobody got arrested and no blood was shed. Only damage was to my liver and bank account. So many good beers up there! We met some groups that were doing 8 to 10 breweries a day for 3 days. No chance I could do that now at my advanced age 🙂
Went for a ride when I got home to burn off some of the beers.
Another short week for me, heading down to Florida for a wedding. I like these short weeks!

    • Sounds like fun. Did you go to any breweries that were new to you?

      • Bob says:

I did, Sweeten Creek brewing was amazing and they have a BBQ joint connected to it. Another one was River Arts District (RAD) brewing. The beer was really good and they had a cool area for hanging out.
Sweeten Creek has to be hit on the way in since it is not walkable from down town. RAD is 2 blocks away from Wedge so can be a part of the walking tour.

Wordle in 4 staying with SALET. Perfect Connections. Yellow, blue, green, purple.

Steve worked ALL weekend – 14-hour days. I stayed busy with the horses and chores, but bummed he had such a crappy weekend – at least he was at home.

Came home for lunch today and just had a delivery guy trying to drop off a step-in tub. He’s on the wrong road, with Google maps showing it goes through. I’m surprised Amazon and the other major delivery services don’t work harder to get the maps corrected. It seems like it would eliminate a lot of headache for them to task someone with map clean up. Due to some gates going up, we no longer find Amazon vans in the local creek, but our neighbor on the other side of the nonexistent cut through had a driver just chuck the package over their gate a couple weeks ago. The neighbor completed the delivery and sold the recipient on some construction work while he was at it. Lol.

Back to the salt mine for the afternoon. Hope it’s not as crazy as the morning was!

We had a pretty cold Friday night and most of Saturday, but the two space heaters helped things quite a bit. Yesterday it was almost 70 degrees out so we turned them off and opened all the windows. I was totally fine the whole time with my layers. Moncrief has been at the house since 8:00 replacing the HVAC and the water heater.

I made a lasagna yesterday with Italian sausage which Finn ate a whole plate of!

  9. Steve says:

I’ve sworn off Wordle for a bit.

Debbie is right… Saturday and Sunday were hellish. Some poor planning on the national groups part and missing our SME with the heart attack. Picking up the pieces this morning- all the cash operations are running, so that’s a good sign.

My Wordle issue is I swear I did the Saturday Wordle, but when I signed on Sunday, it had me at zero. I might have said a longer than 5 letter word!

I am really glad David didn’t try to go to Yosemite, especially since they had to close it because of the weather.
