Something strange happened last night, my iPhone called one of my buddies while it was on the shelf charging. Therefore I was not even touching it, and it should have been locked, when this occurred. I cannot explain how this happened.

Day of chores ahead of me.

Wordle: four, my starter was SHOCK
Connections: FAIL, Yellow > X > X > X

Looks like a good day to do chores inside. Might be a rainy GUTS run. We may do a rain check for beer and pizza. Mia and Emma getting dropped off this morning for just one night.

Wordle in 4 starting with STORM. One mistake in connections: green, blue, purple, yellow. Of course you would get yellow first.

    • Unfortunately some of my chores require me to go places.

I got yellow first, after failing twice to get the right four, and then was stunned that those for made up the yellow. I was doomed to failure at that point.

  2. It’s March and it feels so weird not to be fretting about germination and seedlings.

  3. Uh oh, my days of careless fun may come to an end. No, I am still miles away from being employable, it appears I am getting a jury summons in the mail today. It had to happen again some time…

    • And like everyone else, I’m not happy about this.

    • Bob says:

I’m the odd one out here but I don’t mind Jury Duty. I find the process fascinating.

      • Jenka says:

Yeah, who says everyone is unhappy with jury duty? I am totally happy to do my civic duty.

        • Barb says:

I agree, in over 15 years in Cobb, I have never gotten the summons. I’d like to do it.

          • Jenka says:

I got called 4 times between the ages of 18 (right after I turned 18 I got called!) and 35, and then I haven’t been called since. I served on a jury in Fulton County once.

      • I am the person who doesn’t watch violent/gory movies or tv, so I always afraid I will be picked for a case involving having to view photos I have been actively avoiding.

And, I don’t know how well I currently fit into my nice, Sunday go to court, clothes. I’ll be damned to have to buy clothes to go to jury duty.

Also, I have a concern that if I am picked for a jury then it will interfere with my Spring travel plans. I’m selfish, but this not new information.

        • Jenka says:

But that is never going to happen. Trials like that only happen on TV shows. The trial I served on involved a stolen carburetor. It was super boring and it only took 3-4 hours.

  4. Steve says:

Still picking up the pieces from the weekend, but at least they aren’t 14 hour days.

Noticed as I drove home yesterday, I was one headlight short. Fortunately, I had a spare and was able to quickly swap it when I got home.

Debbie was exhausted when she got home, so instead of riding, I cooked dinner.

An appoint today at CHaRM! Look at me getting all ecological. They are apparently one of the few places that still take old TV’s. one has been sitting next to the man cave for a couple years and Debbie said ‘enough”. May keep heading south when I go at 1PM

    • Jenka says:

Because everyone has a spare headlight just hanging around. Right?

      • Barb says:

I was thinking that – who has a spare headlight laying around? Not even my over achiever who has way too much of everything Eagle Scout husband.

    • What’s the tv recycling tax these days? I will be making a CHaRM appointment for next week to rid the ITP Estate of some items which should be recycled somewhat responsibly.

      • Barb says:

I bought some of the Hefty Renew orange garbage bags for hard to recycle items – we will fill it & take it to the Cobb County recycle place on County Services Rd (where we have to take the glass).
Its a decent program – and they ever have a list on the bag as to what can go into it.

        • CHaRM was giving those out a couple of years ago. After bringing one back I bought some, but when I filled one and brought it to them they informed me that they were no longer collecting them so I have given up on the program.

The games hurt my brain today

The Centennial Knights beat the Decatur Bulldogs 2-1 last night breaking the Bulldogs 6-0 streak. The boys from Decatur tried to overpower the Knights but they did not back down. Super physical game and was fun to watch the Knights fight back and not take any crap. Travis played half of the first and all of the second half. Good times.

  6. Jenka says:

We went to Ocean Wave for dinner, I had a really tough day yesterday and wasn’t up for cooking.

The first F1 race of the season on Saturday was a total snoozefest. The front racer was ahead by 20 seconds most of the race! I hope they aren’t all like that.

  7. Barb says:

got a text from Kat, she has a meeting tomorrow at Steve’s place of work, so she wanted to know if we wanted to meet up for dinner. I offered her a bed (why pay for a hotel room on your own dime for a meeting) so we now have a house guest tonight. Moving to NC makes you need a little planning to get to a in person meeting.

I watched a silly network sitcom called Extended Family that I DVRd last night. I’ve decided I really don’t like Jon Cryer. I can’t imagine it will be renewed for another season.

  8. Home from first round of chores, axing a trip to the Decatur library even though I virtually drove right passed it.

    Done:
    Laundry
    Manila Envelope purchased at Kroger
Tax paperwork dropped off at tax preparer’s office
Aldi to buy bread, and salad, they didn’t have the salad I like to buy

    To Do:
    House cleaning
    Put away clean laundry
    Make/Eat lunch
    Make some phone calls

  9. Jenka says:

Hmm. I guess my comment got swallowed by the server?

Total Wordle fail. Do you know how many words end with those 4 letters? I just kept guessing first letters (wrong) for 6 tries.

Connections just fine with one mistake: yellow > blue > purple > green.

    • Yeah, it was one of those words. Since I don’t play on “hard mode” I will throw random words in the mix to try to solve.

I’m still not sure why I performed so poorly in Connections today. I guess I was thrown off by how many guesses it took me to get the Yellows.

  10. Think I might have to put the bike on the trainer in order to get some exercise today.

  11. Barb says:

conniptions for me today- my brain was not getting it.
Wordle in 6 – had the last 4 on the 3rd one.

    Oh well………

  12. Well, potential jury duty is on the same day as my dental appointment. Knowing that this is far from a valid excuse to be omitted, I am in the process of trying to reschedule my dental appointment.

  13. Debbie says:

Wordle in 6 and a conniptions day.

We’re down a couple people at work and it’s nuts. That little clinic does an amazing amount of business and it really takes all hands on deck to keep things moving smoothly. I was able to briefly snuggle with 2 Irish Wolfhounds today. That was a nice moment in an otherwise crazy morning.

Got my knee mri results yesterday and the cartilage around my patella is mostly shot. Appointment with the ortho on Friday for next steps. He’s had me on Meloxicam in the meantime and that’s really addressed the issue. I’m not sure he’ll let me just stay on it though.

I’m self prescribing pilates. I’m so tight and stiff so I’ve got to do something to stretch and strengthen. My new horse is really tall and getting on him is a struggle. Got to get ahead of that!

  14. Just received an email thanking me for making a bitcoin purchase via my PayPal account. I know that this is complete bullshit, but I am so tired of scammers trying to steal from people.

  15. Barb says:

I’m dreaming on bamboo fish right now………
