As of today I am officially 50% owner of the Florida House. To keep balance in the Universe I guess that I will claim the parts of the house with plumbing issues.

I clearly have something wrong with me; I think it’s called “empathy”. Yesterday I hobbled out to the dead tree stump with visions of taking it down to the ground when I once again saw many lizards scampering around it. Certainly this is their home and I, the big bad human, was going to make their lives a lot worse, so I backed off. Later in the evening I caught and released a cute little gecko who had decided to visit the inside of the house.

I got shut out trying to find a new brewery yesterday. My travels took me to Largo, FL and when I was returning I saw three breweries on the map:
– Arkane Aleworks is closed on Tuesdays
– Commerce Brewing is a brewery with no taproom
– Olde Florida Brewing Company has gone out of business

Fear not, I didn’t have to go all night without visiting a brewery. While I was out on a walk after eating dinner I walked too close to the brewery district and stopped in for one at Calendonia Brewing.

This piriformis syndrome, assuming that is my current affliction, is bugging the shit out of me. The only time I seem to be free of pain is after I have walked for a few minutes. I’m anxious to go out for a bike ride because I don’t know how my body will react. I’ll keep researching and stretch, hoping that it will literally work itself out.

Wordle: three, my starter was EJECT
Connections: perfect, Green > Blue > Purple > Yellow
Strands: no problem

Wordle in 3 and just to aggravate myself I tried Conniptions- epic FAIL!

I’m happy to report the shop lights are now back to normal. Debbie was a spectator as I had the bucket of the front end loader at full height to use as a work platform and I could reach the fixture. Once I swapped in the new bulb, I had her turn on the power. The old fixture came on but the new one- nothing! Well… it just took it a while longer but did finally come on. not quite as bright as the other fixture, but I’ll take it.

Our foster kittens are really skinny, but I managed to get one to purr while the dogs were outside being annoying. They will move out to the shop in a very large dog crate for the next week.

  2. My days of being an AT&T customer, and most likely shareholder, are nearing the end. I have been having unacceptable service outages with them. I will have to test T-Mobile’s router at the ITP Estate once it’s no longer needed in Florida, and will kick AT&T to the curb if it works. With the home internet I will also dump their digital landline phone, and cell service. Eff Off, Att!

Thank you for saving the lizards’ home!
Wordle in 4 starting with Abode. Used up two guesses on Connections trying to fish out yellow…I finally moved on to another category. Green, Blue, Purple, Yellow. Used on hint on Strands just to get me started.

I have AT&T for internet only and haven’t had any issues other than them raising fees every year. Verizon for phone.

Beautiful night last night for a GUTS run at Kennesaw. At Least 20 folks came out to join in the fun and parking lot shenanigans.

March Madness begins this week. Not sure if I’ll do a bracket or not. We have a work pool. Haven’t really paid that much attention to college basketball this year.

    Happy Hump Day

    • You were more optimistic at Wordle than I was (using a J and repeating Es) given that yesterday’s solution was ABIDE.

What aggravates me at the moment, other than feeling powerless to fix the problem and having no faith that it will be fixed for me, is that I used to have a way to check to see if the power was out by calling my answering machine, but can’t do that any longer. Oh, and my thermostat is internet connected, so I wonder if the temperature I set is being maintained; of course I can’t check it because there is no goddamn internet connection! All this, and I am an eight hour drive away…

To riff on Johnny Paycheck, “that those word games and shove it.” I can’r see a single word in Strands, I’m stuck on attempt 4 on Wordle, and tbe purple category in Connections made me groan. No more self-torture today, I’m gonna leave that to our resident expert. 😉

  5. Barb says:

Not much going on over here – walked with Kristina to Wheeler to get Libby from the high school (she’s having car issues again). IT was a little more than 3 mile round trip walk.
Tried to watch the new Night Court – I’ve been trying to watch some half hour comedies – most are just not that funny. But GHOSTS – it is funny. I love that show.

  6. Debbie says:

Wordle in 5. Connections and Strands complete but lackluster efforts on both.

Busy day of chores and errands before heading off on a girls trip tomorrow. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend at a cabin in NC. Steve and I have to wrap up our 2 month old dominoes game this evening so I can pack them for the trip.

  7. Steve says:

And I’m hatching a plan to go to hash happy hour Friday- Fish Fry at the Catholic church!

  8. Jenka says:

You’re all so upset about the word games I will have to take a stab at them later!

We went to Iberian Pig for dinner last night, it was fabulous as usual. The empanadas were especially delicious, I don’t know if they changed them or I haven’t had them in a while.

We have decided to drop It’s Always Sunny for a while. We’re on season 13 and while it’s still funny, it’s kind of repetitive. Kevin requested a drama so we watched the first episode of The Morning Show.

    • Barb says:

We need to check out The Morning Show – Started The Gentleman. (or is it Gentlemen?) Hasn’t really caught my attention yet.

      • Jenka says:

The first episode is really good, too bad we have to wait until we get back from Florida to watch the next episode.

  9. Barb says:

    yellow- green – blue – purple –
    I thought yellow was easy.
    Purple- what a dumb category.

Wordle – in 4 – Paulie’s start word made it harder

  10. Just finished a few hours of choring in the Florida House backyard, a place my mother almost never visited. Trees have been encroaching, making the yard look smaller than it is, so I cut back many branches. Our local AirBnB friend has agreed to take away the yard waste in his trailer, for which we pay him for his kindness.

  11. Barb says:

finally tried Strands – not sure I want to play that game every day.
    I needed lots of hints

    • David says:

I usually breeze through that game but today I had absolutely nothing and moved on.

    • Jenka says:

Barb, the first time I did it I needed lots of hints, too. Then I got the hang of it and it was much easier.

    • I have always been a lover of Word Search, pattern matching in general, so Strands is a win for me. Today I read the title, immediately recognized a pattern, and located the “spangram”. After than, because all words followed the same pattern, it was a breeze.

  12. Barb says:

We are thinking of a road bike ride Saturday &/or Sunday –
I really need to remember how to ride a bike before Spring Tune Up.
    Anyone interested?
