Good ride last night, short but hard. It is almost as if I am training for something…

I used to know someone who owned a label maker, and I can say this once again because the label maker owner is me. Yes, while I may not be the most organized person in the world, I do love a bit of organizing so this will help me label my world. And, it may finally help me keep my seedlings and transplants in order!

For some reason the YouTube algorithm has gotten in its artificial head that I want to watch videos uploaded eight, ten, twelve years ago? Hell, this morning it suggested I watch a clip from the “Price is Right” that was uploaded seventeen years ago! Was YouTube even created in 2007? (SPOILER: yes, it was)

Wordle: three, my starter was TRADE
Connections: perfect, Blue > Yellow > Green > Purple

Wordle in 5. Just couldn’t see the word. Connections: the same as you, Blue, Yellow, Green, Purple. Strands was hard but I muddled through it.
Picking up Whiskey tonight…not the kind you drink… but a lovable pittie. Will have her through Tuesday.
Self Defense class Saturday morning and then maybe yard work. Sunday is the annual Spring Dress Ride. I should stay home and get things done around here but I know I’ll get talked into riding instead.
It was a beautiful morning for a run. I’m ready to face the day. Today is my sister’s birthday, whom we lost to Ovarian Cancer. It will weigh heavy on my mind.

    • Good on ya, Sal!

Iā€™m sorry for your loss. It never seems to get easier.

    • Barb says:

Davey posted something on BS FP page about a fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer.
I tried to donate thru FB, and it declined my Amex.

I ended up calling Amex, seems somewhere in the last week my card has been compromised.
So – I’m getting a new card & new number. They say the old one will still work with the actual card, but I can’t make any online purchases.
Oh well – at least they caught it. I do check the app every day or 2 for my purchases – to be sure these things don’t happen. It was a $1 charge – I guess “they” were testing to be sure it would work before bigger purchases.

      • Sally says:

I had that happen once too. A dollar charge. I now get notifications for every transaction on my card.

    • Bob says:

Cancer sucks! Sorry about your sister šŸ™

Self defense class huh? You may be able to use some of those techniques in Iowa šŸ™‚

  2. Sally says:

And since I got talked into going to Iowa in July (I’m a sucker)…I need to start saving for the trip. I found 35 cents on my run this morning. So now I am 35 cents closer to being able to afford the trip! :). It’s a start.

    No wordle yet.

The reason you’re getting old videos on youtube is from watching 60 year old “whats my line” shows! Duh.

A really windy day on the road yesterday and i know I’m bruised from being out the sunroof running the barrage. Geting beat up as we descended the mountain. Ouch.

yellow- green – blue – purple.
I had to resort to the google for Wordle – I have no patience some days
I don’t know if I would have gotten it – that word just wasn’t coming to me.

Got some basil & tomatoes yesterday at Ace, they didn’t have any peppers – so I guess I’ll look next week. Got what I had all planted. I have a few extra tomatoes – if Sal wants them.

  5. Jenka says:

What a day yesterday! Huge protest on the quad that got broken up by the cops with tear gas and tasers and everything. Then last night another protest started and they came to my building! Fortunately they didn’t come in and it was mostly peaceful. I was half expecting Emory to go remote today but apparently it’s business as usual.

    • Steve says:

Wow. Ive only been folloing the news a bit. I guess free speech isnt a thing on college campuses?

      • Jenka says:

Emory is a private university which means the campus is private property and we can tell anyone to get off our lawn!

    • Barb says:

Emory was mentioned on GMA – a professor was arrested & they had film of her saying to someone-” let them know I won’t be at class, I’m being arrested.”

    • David says:

Juniors and seniors at Paideia can go off campus for lunch but were prohibited from going to Emory Village yesterday.

      • Jenka says:

That’s good, considering the number of machine guns the cops had.

        • David says:

Christ. Paideia stays really plugged in on the security front, they have cops on campus and I think a former cop who advises them on situations like this. What you’re describing sounds like it could have been Kent State all over again if it escalated any further.

    • David says:

From what I’ve seen on line, it was the Georgia State Patrol that broke up the protest. The over the top response did not seem to jibe with how Atlanta cops typically respond. GSP goes to fucking war.

  6. David says:

Wordle in 4, clean connections. Purple category was fucking stupid, at least it solved itself.

Although I personally have never hashed, and don’t ever expect to, I have been hash adjacent for about 20 or so years now. Early on I hosted a hash ending in my back yard, back when Ass Mint was newly in to hashing and really into it. She never talked me into joining, despite her best efforts. I am comfortably ensconced in my hash adjacency, thank you. šŸ™‚ Which continues tonight at a 50th birthday party for someone who used to grace these pages but now is no longer mentioned by name. We cultivated a friendship a couple of years ago.

I had plans on the calendar to take a new friend who lives in Carrollton on his inaugural Silver Comet ride tomorrow, but it looks like life has been coming at him too fast. It’s been coming at me too dang fast too. I know I’m going to meet some new kittens that Ass Mint recently adopted, apart from that I don’t have any particular plans tomorrow or Sunday, but I will make sure to get on my bike. I need to start training for Cades Cove in August. My brother has become a gym rat (I say that with love) and I can’t have him showing me up in August (I’m 7 years older, so he is starting have an edge on me just from an age standpoint). Seriously, though, he is doing so many things that were incomprehensible to him previously, including engaging a personal trainer. He is truly in a whole new space in life, and it’s amazing.

  7. Bob says:

Well, I’m officially the president of our HOA. There is a new sheriff in town and shit is going to change! Not really, I’ll be keeping the status quo and responding to emergency fixes at the pool/clubhouse.

Family bowling outage before the HOA meeting last night. We signed up for that league too. Watch out for team BLT!!

  8. Checking out for the rest of the day. Perhaps I will see you all on Monday.

  9. Barb says:

Its very overcast & weird out – is it going to rain???
