For the first time in WLF history some critter has decided to attack tomato plants. In the morning I transplanted a healthy 7″ tall plant, by the afternoon it was eaten at the base, completely separated from its roots. Fuckers! I’m glad that I have an abundance of volunteer tomato plants to make up for this atrocity, but it’s still aggravating to me.

Wordle: three, my starter was TRADE
Connections: two mistakes, Green > Purple > Yellow > Blue

Wordle in 5. 3 is well done.

It was a vertigo day yesterday, but there were things I had to do on site in prep for some weekend work. I came home and Debbie let me be still and relax.

I was able to get T-mobile on the phone to diagnose the home router and another unit will be here shortly. This is good new as the TV doesn’t know about the Verizon hot spot, though that may change if I want to watch the Giro today.

Looks like rain. Haven’t seen the radar yet.

    • Fortunate to have three misplaced letters after two guesses, and swung for the fences with my third.

On which service is the Giro on this year? Cycling package on HBO? I’m starting to miss GCN+.

      • Steve says:

Likewise on GCN. The Giro was picked up by (Cine)MAX and it’s the same coverage as GCN provided. $15 a month and I have a reminder to cancel on June 1.

  2. At the Waschsalon this morning. I was going to treat myself to breakfast after I am done, but seeing my weight, and the tidal wave of bills that are in my near future, have decided against it.

  3. Bob says:

We have a driver in the house!
Travis passed the road test and is now officially licensed. The test was strange, they put a camera in the car then called us to give instructions over the phone. I had to sit in the passenger seat and remain quiet and still. She said if I said anything or gave any hand signals the test would be cancelled and he would fail. He made a few mistakes and it was killing me to not say anything. Odd experience but I guess they have been doing it that way since covid.

If I could post a photo in here I would put an image of Carl Spackler hunting gofers for you Paulie 🙂

  4. Encountered some rain after leaving Waschsalon, but home again. Egg and cheese sandwich with mushrooms has been consumed.

  5. Jenka says:

Apparently N GA got pummeled over night. I got 7 or 8 texts from the Coosawattee saying 2 gates were closed and one of the main roads is impassible in multiple places. It’s raining at Emory right now but that’s about it, and it looks like it might be almost done.

  6. Barb says:

we had some rain last night – yesterday was 80, today’s high is only supposed to be 62.
    Mom & Dad will freeze!

the home health aide came yesterday afternoon, helped with getting lunch, socialize, but the biggest thing she does is clean – its soooo nice. Mom was moving a tiny bit better, but not that much better.

  7. Used the break in rain to get into WLF. I have harvested four different radishes, some romaine lettuce, and a hot banana pepper. The pepper arrived much earlier than I expected from a plant that I purchased from Lowe’s.

  8. Barb says:

Davey just told me – I’m not Dashing in this weather for tiny tips. People are insane

  9. Well, it appears that ITP dodged a bullet and that all of the worst weather went around us.

  10. Steve says:

Over 1.5 inches in the gauge and we ain’t done yet.

And I called T-Mobile about the dead router last night. UPS dropped it off about noon and it’s up and running already, thanks to the crack (!!) network team (i.e. ME!).
I think that’s good customer service to ship that quick.

  11. Jenka says:

It rained here briefly around 8:30 this morning but since then it’s just sort of grey.
