Remember the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020?
Remember when I was not alarmed because I had plenty in stock already?
May 2024, and I am down to my final three rolls.
To be fair, I have been the only one to use the toilet paper since April 2022, but still.

I made nachos for dinner last night. Why? Because the temperature in the house was cool enough to handle the use of my ancient oven.

My wordplay has been weak this week.

Wordle: five, my starter was SPARE
Connections: one mistake, Green > X > Yellow > Purple > Blue

    Wordle in 4! I was scratching…

Are you saying you haven’t purchased TP in 25 months? You ARE a hoarder!

A quiet evening. After shutting down the lap top I spent some quality time on Mahindra and she rolled over 800 hours on the clock. Considering all the issues (knock on wood) reported on the FB forum for that brand of tractor, I got the good one.

The current crop of Jeopardy contestants is pretty weak. I think they were 0-6 at the start of the show last night. Makes me want to take the test…

    Games meeting tonight. yippee.

    • It just so happened that I had purchased a large multipack prior to the onset of COVID, and, since I quit hashing there was no need to have any TP for laying trails, so I started using that supply too. Plus, it’s not like I don’t have plenty of space to store the rolls. I like to call it being “prepared”. 😉

Waiting for the HVAC tech to arrive for my semi-annual unit checkup.

And for those not involved with certain social media apps, Sally pictures from the AT make me want to go hiking! This must be Virginia…

    • Barb says:

for some reason I thought it was TN – but I could be wrong.
I’m sure the picks are on Insta – so Paulie could see them there,
I’d love to do a series of day hikes, but coordinating the shuttle would be a pain.
Carrying a heavy backpack & everything I need for a few days – I don’t think my back would like it.

    • People have been telling me to “take a hike” for years, but I have been resisting the urge.

I only saw the freestanding hearth photo she sent to me. 🙂

  3. In this weather it doesn’t take long to work up a sweat when going outside.

  4. Barb says:

we did nothing last night – I was so tired.
Didn’t eat lunch until 2pm, so dinner was a salad.

Caught up on Amazing Race – I think the finale is next week.
This season they have nothing with them trying to get on the best flights to the next city – they fly them after the segment to the next city & they start from there.
AND – I actually like most of the contestants that are still in it, so whoever wins I’ll be ok with it.

So Paulie – we need to get caught up on Survivor – not sure when Sal is getting back, but I think in the next day or so.

    • I’ll have to see my schedule. House work will take precedence. And, I won’t be sad if I don’t see the conclusion of Survivor since I’m convinced those people are stupid. Haha

    • Jenka says:

I guess I didn’t even know that there’s a new season of TAR! I need to get to watching that.

  5. Barb says:

bad (or good) Dad joke of the day –

Where do basketball players go when they need a uniform? …………..

    New Jersey. 😉

  6. Barb says:

    I’m bored with Connections –
if I don’t see it right away, I just start clicking to see the answer.
I got green & yellow – then decided I didn’t want to think anymore.

Wordle – that was as fail today too.

Rather than fade into the mist I figured I should announce that I’m joining the ranks of ITP Reader alumni. I’ve found myself in a curious place where I no longer want to write about my life. I instead have a compelling need to talk to people IRL. I never thought I’d see the day. This blog has been an absolutely instrumental part of my recovery, and I thank every one of you from the bottom of my heart for your unending support.

This is by no means goodbye, I am here for the Silver Comet rides and anything of that ilk. I’m also here for lunches, dinners, basically IRL activities instead of virtual. Y’all have my express consent to share my contact info with anyone that happens to want it.

I will share that I made my therapist’s jaw drop yesterday when I told her about how I acknowledged my mother on Sunday, thanked her for what she finally disclosed in January, and that I could finally see beyond all of the past anger and vitriol to be able to fully see the lifelong intensity and ferocity of her pain. She hasn’t responded, because this is akin to shipping a Tesla to a Neanderthal, but this wasn’t about her. None of it ever really was.

I have some unpleasant legalities that lie ahead of me, but apart than that, I have made it through. As Jim Morrison sang, “Break on through the other side!”

    • As someone who has done so for nearly twenty years, I completely understand.

May your journey continue in the directions you desire.

    • Steve says:

Congratulations on your successes, David. The journey never really ends, does it?

I look forward to seeing you IRL!

    • Bob says:

Good on you David for your progress along your journey. Looking forward to an IRL meetup at some time.

  8. Jenka says:

I have nothing to report, thank goodness. We ordered salads and watched the season 2 finale of the Morning Show. The second season was not nearly as good as the first. I hope the third is better.

    • I can’t spoil anything for you because I never really go into the third season.

Related: my Peacock subscription renews next month and I am contemplating canceling it.

      • Jenka says:

Well, no spoilers on the current season of TAR, which I didn’t even know was happening!

I am on the fence with Peacock. It’s handy, but only for certain things.

      • Barb says:

Allan’s parents are paying for Peacock – so we are all set there.
Isn’t the Tour broadcast on it?
(Kevin is working the Tour this year)

  9. Jenka says:

Just put in for my summer vacations. One week in June and two weeks in July. Can’t wait for some down time!

    • Bob says:

Are you stalking me? I have the same summer vacations 🙂
BRAG in June, Orlando and RAGBRAI in July. Can I expect to see you there?

  10. HVAC guy has come and gone. All seems to be in working order.

Trying to get motivated. Need to go to Kroger. Currently downloading operating system software updates for all of my devices.

    • Barb says:

if you are bored at Kroger – look & see if they have whole turkeys. (they are $2.58/lb at Publix)
We need 1 for a party we are going to the weekend BRAG starts
