Nothing new to report.

I am trying to fix something at my house, and my house is being the complete pain in the ass that I have become used to it being.

My Wordle frustrations continue. Today’s solution was another of my common starter words that I chose not to use.

Wordle: five, my starter was STARE
Connections: perfect, Yellow > Purple > Blue > Green

Wordle in 4 and Connections with only one mistake.
Friday evening, I thought I saw some odd things in the sky while in the hot tub and advised Debbie when I came to bed. She was able to get a couple pictures with her phone of the Northern Lights.

An easy day in the office Saturday which would have been really quick except the engineers didn’t start on time. Once started, it was wham bam, thank you ma’am.
I rode 20 Saturday afternoon. I had high hopes for more, but just wasn’t feeling it.
After a graduation party for a fresh UGA grad, we joined friends at their farm for more NL observations. Disappointed, but were rewarded with a train of Starlink satellites.

After blueberry pancakes for Mother’s Day, it was errands and chores. Swapped out lightbulbs in the man cave, as the one I replaced earlier this year wasn’t bright enough. It may yet be a problem as it was completely off at one point later- the ballast may be failing. Mowed half the front pasture. The joys of farm living.

I totally missed the northern lights – a lady at the airport said they saw them on the way in – I had no idea it was even going on .

  2. Transplanted some more mystery pepper (?) plants this morning. I’ve already completely failed my one resolution for this year “Document all plants so that you know what seeds you sowed”. Oh well, it will be a surprise to see what becomes of these.

After finding one starting to rot, today I will also evaluate the state of the rest of my stored squash to see if they need to be composted.

    • Steve says:

So “mystery pepper” is the name, or you don’t know which one you planted or you don’t know how hot it will be!

      • I know it’s a pepper, but I have no recollection of what variety I planted in the tray. I have (finally) numbered the trays and started taking photos of the seed packets I used, but this tray was seeded prior to this plan.

    • Related: WLF loves this weather! I am about to return to basement cleanup in which some neglected crops will be composted. So far I’ve taken out the many cloves of garlic that I never go to use in time; next up is checking the ginger and potatoes I have in storage.

I’m back from Iowa Saturday morning – left the house at 3:45am, picked up my brother at 4am, at the airport at 4:15an (he had to be to work at 4:30am)
It was truly amazing how many people were there that early for a 6am flight – its a tiny airport – why would you get there so early? I usually roll in 5:15 or so.

Went to breakfast with the in-laws for Mother’s Day a day early – got a little nap, then to Alpharetta for Davey & Chew Chew’s 5th anniversary gathering.

Slept 11 hours Saturday night – then to Hayesville, NC to Jackrabbit Mtn for Wheelhopper. (2 hour drive by myself, Allan had to work). It was a GORGEOUS day, very fun mtn bike trails, small group. I’m glad I went – need to get up there more often. Cathy (4 inch) who lives right down the street joined us – she hiked while we rode.

I didn’t make it up to the convention center hotel until 7:00 Friday night and my boss didn’t make it until 8:00, so our dinner was late. Got up bright and early Saturday morning for my school’s commencement ceremony. Everything went really well, and I was on the road home soon after 11:00. We met friends for lunch at Pure, then when I got home I did not leave the house again until this morning when I went to work. I spent all day yesterday away from the internet (except, like, Netflix and Prime, of course).

Campus is totally dead this morning, I am one of very few people in my building.

its just too dark outside today.
    I can not wake up

Crazy busy weekend! Finally got Travis’s car registered, super shady cash only transaction. Fingers crossed that in 2 weeks I’ll get a license plate and title in the mail, we shall see……..
Saturday was packed with clubhouse, pool, tennis court, playground cleanup in the morning followed by yard work. Made my way up to Jekyll brewing for Davey and Choo Choo’s anniversary party. Had to leave early to make it down to the atlanta united game. I was done when we got home.
Sunday I went for a short ride to see how my knee would do. 12 mile ride and felt pretty good. I’ll kick up the PT exercises to hopefully be at full strength for BRAG. We tried to go bowling in the afternoon but there was a tournament at our alley (who does that on mother’s day?) so we just went and walked around downtown Roswell. Went out to dinner with Laura’s family last night.
I’m kind of happy it’s raining so I can have a chill night 🙂

shady cash only transaction – sounds like fun!
      hope it all works out

      • Bob says:

When the dude told me to follow him to a downstairs office I got really concerned thinking this was going to be the end.
This building I went to had 3 floors of tiny offices (only big enough for a desk and a computer), one of the guys told me there are 40 car dealers working out of that building. It is really just a physical front for their shady businesses.
        Definitely an interesting adventure.

    • Wow you were busy!

I know forty years have passed, and everything is different, but my first car, a 1968 Ford Mustang, which was bought off a used car lot came with a title that claimed it was a 1967 Ford Mustang. If you were into Mustangs the way I was back then, you’d certainly know the difference due to dissimilar body features.

      • Bob says:

The odometer on the car says 138K but the title says 196K. When I was denied at the DMV the guy I bought it from said “oh yeah, the instrument cluster was replaced”.
I’ll have to disclose that when/if I sell it but we paid under 5K for the car so it is sort of disposable. It runs and drives great so Travis will just drive it until the wheels fall off or he crashes it 🙂

  7. Barb says:

conniptions for me today – how you got purple….???? and I got green 1st.

  8. Poked around WLF before any more rain arrives. Allowed myself to eat a small handful of freshly picked blackberries. 🙂

Back down in the basement now, wondering how I have accumulated so much stuff!
