I’ve reach the level of in Duolingo for German where I can’t easily complete the lessons. Yesterday I made five mistakes in one lesson block, got really frustrated, and gave up.

Big fingers crossed that the project on which I am about to start doesn’t go tits up and force me to call a plumber… Update on Monday.

Wordle: four, my starter was RINSE
Connections: perfect, Green > Yellow > Blue > Purple

Wordle in 4 and my starter word was a complete whiff.

My plans for a ride yesterday afternoon were thwarted with the information that the fertilizer truck will be coming today. The final pastures needed mowing before that happens and I spent 4 hours on the tractor. It’s only from that perspective that you get a sense of how well the pastures have taken off since we cleared all the trees 3 years ago. There are a few bare-ish spots, but nothing bad. The fertilizer, over seed, weed control and fire ant control applied today should really help. And I learned yesterday that when the wind is just right and you hit an ant hill with the mower, those little F’ers will fly and land on you (and bite).

I decided to come into the office today as there is some clean up work to be done before some of the last switch replacements next month. No one is here, so I should be able to work uninterrupted.

Meeting with the new park rep this evening at Local 7 in Tucker was another incentive to get up and come in.

sounds like you’ve got this farmer life working Steve.
and – no fun on the ant hills.

well – I may be flying back home tonight or this weekend –
My Mom is a mess, she can barely move on her own. Parkinson’s is hitting hard.
We can’t leave Dad alone for too long, so he’s thinking about taking her to the hospital to figure out the next step. Tom needs some help – he’s supposed to call me.
Flight isn’t that much more $$ than it was when I planned & bought over a month out.
I paid $497 for the last trip, flying today is 1 way is $504, round trip is $629.

I was able to ramble last night and my knee felt pretty OK. I may take today off and attempt a longer ride tomorrow. With BRAG in 2 weeks it looks like I may have to ride myself in to shape again. Getting old sucks!

There are some days on Duolingo when I make mistake after mistake. I just tell myself at least I’m making mistakes while learning the language, instead of not learning the language at all. Frankly, it’s a fucking miracle that I actually make the effort, I do so little of that these days.

Last big reception honoring my retiring boss last night. The AC wasn’t working and it was hot AF in there. Like, sweat rolling down my back.

A couple of weeks ago Kevin replenished the wiper fluid in my car and after that the fluid didn’t come out. Like, I would pull the handle for the wiper fluid and nothing came out. It’s been raining a lot so it hasn’t been an issue, but this morning I tried it again and it had healed itself!

  5. Thought we were lucky, unfortunately I am wrong. Old plumbing is as shitty as expected.

Oh, and some of the reason for my poor water flow is the City of Atlanta’s “clean” water.

Finally up for air after re-labelling cable all morning. Unlike our previous switch swaps, this is a whole re-jiggering, so is a bit of a challenge.

Barb, sorry to hear about your mom. Hoping for good outcomes.

  7. Job done? Well, done enough for now. Improvement made!
