Well, I’ve booked travel to/from Amsterdam. I’ve extended a couple of days outside of when the rest of my shipmates will be traveling, but I wanted the opportunity to do a little solo traveling. I may not have been able to book enough time to make it to Germany, but I will have fun regardless. 109,000 Delta Sky Miles doesn’t buy nearly as much as it once did, as I will be with the other cheap fliers in Cattle Class.

  1. On a day where free time is precious, I have wasted some of mine by trying to repair my lawnmower after hitting a rock. I also managed to cut my finger while repairing so that wasted time too.

Wordle in 6!! Never an incorrect letter..

We went to the final meeting last night with the actual county commission for the approval of the kennel. There were no fireworks, unlike the guy who wanted to put a members only clubhouse on his property. The “zoning lady” spoke, he spoke, then 3 neighbors came up and fought it. Commission denied it. We laughed upon driving home that maybe he should have called it a kennel!!HAHAHAHA.. we cracked ourselves up.

WFH today as the boss called yesterday and said I was needed on site on Thursday. Sam is off and Comcast is coming (supposedly) for an install.

    Still nothing from the cardiologist.

I know Paulie and I make stimulating blogs posts, but some of you other folks need to chime in.

Bob, what is Travis doing with his new ride? Is he working this summer?

Heh, since it’s apparently a slow news day I’ll make a guest appearance. I’ve lost 23 pounds in six months, absolutely without trying. It’s a mindfuck, because I spent decades ineffectually trying. The absolute key for me was cutting back alcohol. A few months back I stopped drinking at home. I used to have a daily beer or three, but a few months ago I find I couldn’t even choke down one, so I’m like fuck it, I don’t need this. I still drink, but only socially. I also stopped stress eating. My doctor confirmed yesterday that alcohol use can lead to overeating.

I’m down to 185, which is a weight I *NEVER* imagined I would return to in this lifetime. It’s bizarre. I haven’t had a scale in 18 months, but Debbie does, and I honestly thought her scale was broken when I first weighed myself and was at 190. Over the weekend I was down to 185, and that’s what my doctor’s scale said.

Lake day at Banana Likker’s was fantastic, Debbie and I rode on a jet ski for the first time, like neither of us had ever been on one. I liked it a lot, as I figured I would whenever I eventually got around to it.

Hopefully my new array of shorts that actually fit will arrive soon from Target, I’m really getting tired of hiking up my pants.

I remember those weights!! I could be there again if I lost 30! It’s a rare day I have 3 beers- Memorial day was the first in a long while. 2 is more likely- a beer, then some bourbon in the hot tub before bed. I could get rid of that one…We’re also bad about eating late. the evening meal is typically in the 8PM hour and that doesn’t help.

    • David says:

Yeah, late night dinner is an unbreakable habit for me too. Daily alcohol was absolutely keeping me stuck for decades, I just couldn’t ever see it.

hi everyone- flying home tomorrow morning – just got a message I got upgraded to 1st class. Its a 1.5 hr flight – at 0600am, but the bigger cushier seat will be nice. (only silver medallion for those that play that game)

  7. Bob says:

This week is flying by getting ready for BRAG in addition to the regular stuff I’m doing. Last night was yard work, tonight is bowling league, tomorrow is Ramble, and Friday off to Savannah to drop a car. All good stuff though.

I forgot to mention yesterday that Sunday night in Brevard we saw Blue Ghost fireflies! Apparently there is only a 3 week window to see them and only in western North Carolina. So cool to see the glowing blue critters in the woods.

Travis is definitely digging the new car, still waiting on plates and title in the mail to determine if we got scammed or not 🙂 I’m at 50/50 odds right now. Car needs new tires and has a crack in the windshield, I’ll get that fixed once I know the car is mine.
Travis got a summer job as a lifeguard, he is looking forward to making some money. He probably just wants to check out the girls at the pool though LOL.

It took a while to get all our paperwork from the dealer… of course, there was financing that went out the door and I had to cough up cash, so the dealer wasn’t in a rush to send paperwork on an unpaid for truck! Is the guy answering your calls?

      • Bob says:

Actually yes, through the whole process he has always answered my calls. I also witnessed another guy enter the title information in to a site that looked like a GA state site. Hopefully it will show up next week.

  8. My friend Tamara is in for a few nights. We went to breakfast at Homegrown, and I have been giving her the tour of what has changed since her last visit five years ago.

    • And, after seeing a vacant Flying Biscuit on McClendon I just discovered that it is relocating to Dekalb Av, where Radial / Lazy Betty was.

      • Steve says:

Interesting. I assume that has to be a bigger space? It seems like they always had a line, at least memory serves…

        • According to the article I read the interior is about the same size, but, now they will have parking.

          • Jenka says:

The interior is the same size but the kitchen is completely new. Also the landlord of the old building didn’t do any maintenance so it was falling into disrepair.

  9. Don’t know how I managed to pack all of my BRAG shit last year. Seems as if I have much more this year.

  10. Jenka says:

Good afternoon from the Escape AmEx Club in the A terminal of Bradley Hartford-Windsor Locks International Airport! There’s no Skyclub but they have a complimentary agreement with this club which got us in for free.

The funeral and graveside service went well yesterday, and the weather was amazing, 80 and breezy. Great to see my family.

I did not regale you all with my horrific delays on Monday. The flight was delayed two hours, then we got on the plane and sat on the tarmac for two hours, then they made us get off the plane, then we sat at the gate for a couple more hours. We finally left around 7:30 and with the hour drive into MA we didn’t get to the hotel until almost 11:00 pm. If it hadn’t been Aunt Dotty’s funeral I would’ve bagged it and gone home.

And today- my flight is again delayed by one hour (so far).

went to the Cedar Rapids Kernels game for some free food & drinks compliments of the Investment company where mom & dad’s money is.
Left in the 8th inning – losing 5-4 – they lost 6-4 I see on the internet
Nice little break in the day
