It was like 80-something degrees in Heaven (The Masquerade) last night, and this was before I left steaming…
The Man Who Can Do Nothing Right
Can we get a little consistency in this city please?
I sat around the house last night until about 8pm before heading to The Masquerade to see Piebald. As it was I thought I was leaving way too early. When I arrived at The Masquerade I noticed that there were already a lot of people (read “kids”) there. As I entered Heaven a band was ready to start. I was pleased because I knew that his wasn’t Piebald so I thought all was good. As this band ended they thanked Piebald and some other band; I was confused. I walked to the back of the room and saw Piebald’s singer Travis (no, I didn’t shake his hand) and asked him if they had already played, which he answered “Yes.” Fuckin’ A!!!!!! It wasn’t even 9pm and three bands had finished? At The EARL the first band wouldn’t have even taken the stage!!!!!!!!!!
I left The Masquerade frustrated (I was there to see Piebald, not Say Anything), and headed home.
Last night I went back and looked at The Masquerade’s website only to see that they did indeed say that the doors opened at 6pm. I am such a tool…

Let’s Go Mets!
If they do not make it to the World Series I will consider the season a bust. They won’t give a good goddamn if I do, but that’s the stance I am taking.
When In Doubt, Do A Deli
I might not be as smart as that Jared dude who was fat and has made a million or so bucks by losing weight by eating Subway sandwiches, but I know how to easily please a crowd. Tonight is my turn to host a Thursday dinner group and rather than struggling with finding a recipe that can sufficiently serve 8-10 I have decided to go the Jew Deli route by offering up a selection of meats, cheeses, breads, and condiments for my guests. I figure each of us can build a plate and then sit around and converse.
What do you like on your sandwich?
And now for some ideas stolen from LiveJournal…

Website Of The Day – If I was doing better research for my dinner I would have been consulting Atlanta Jewish Life for the past few months. (I may have to update this because their website is not responding :()
