It’s Lavanderia Jueves

Oh yes it’s laundry night, oh, what a night. And I have three IKEA bags’ worth of laundry to process tonight. I’m assuming that I’ll be loitering about the lavanderia next to Las Tortas Locas tonight, though the desire for a Bhan Mi sandwich from Lee’s Bakery may win out…

So Ba Was So Good
Last night I met up with ITP-Reader Betsy for a pre-Top Chef meal at East Atlanta’s So Ba. It’s been a while since I’ve actually eaten in the restaurant (recall I was supposed last week but the ice killed that idea, and one Top Chef night Betsy brought take out to the house) so when I was informed that they have a liquor license, I was a little embarrassed to be holding the bottle of wine Betsy and I were planning on consuming.

Side note: Also dining at So Ba last night was Surly Temple and his girlfriend, whose name I always forget.

The food at So Ba was delicious. Betsy and I ordered some salt and pepper tofu and spring rolls as appetizers and short ribs and sliced pork as entrees, and agreed to share all of it.

By adding meat pie meat filling to it, of course!

Writing Off The Training Week
I didn’t make time for my runs on Tuesday or Wednesday. I may have time to do some exercising tonight. Tomorrow is a scheduled rest day (I’m really good at those) and I’ve already committed to a Taco Mac happy hour. Saturday will be a busy day I’m committed morning and afternoon, but I am going to try and reboot (NERD!) my training schedule then. Wish me luck. No, instead wish me discipline.

I’ve Got Nothing Else
Today’s is one of those days where I must throw my hands in the air and exclaim “That’s it, I have nothing else.” *throws hands in the air and exclaims “That’s it, I have nothing else.*

So, we weren’t really in the mood to go to George’s last night & were really trying to rally, and then got a text from Bob that he was working late & the roadtrip was off. I hate to say it – made me quite happy. I wanted to go in theory, but just wasn’t in the mood. Plus, Allan had been at the firehouse for 2 days & just really wanted to chill at home.
Now next Wed. Allan is working, so who knows when we will get down there.

Her name is Sabrina…I saw on Facebook they were there.

You could run tonight while your clothes are in the washer, multitasking. Since you’ve rested on your scheduled run days, I see no reason why you can’t run on a scheduled rest day. You could run tonight while your clothes are in the washer or we could meet up before work tomorrow for a very easy 3.

I think Saturday I may go to Sweetwater alone and just run loops until I don’t want to run any more. I need to get some distance under my belt.

So I may or may not have to go to the tag office today…my temp plates expire today and I haven’t got the new ones yet. I’m pretty sure the dealer applied for the new ones (I’m waiting on a return call to make sure) but with the holidays and ‘snow’ storm, Fulton Co offices have probably only been open 10 days of the last month.

  3. Ah, thanks.

I’d say that I’d try to be there next Wednesday but it would be a long commute from Clemson, SC and an even longer commute from Raleigh, NC the following week.

I know I can run on rest days. 😉 One of the other limitations I have this week is making up for missed time on Tuesday and Wednesday by putting in a few extra hours yesterday and today. I would run while doing laundry but hate the idea of touching my clean clothes while I am disgustingly sweaty. Who knows, maybe I’ll hook up the Red Rocket to the trainer tonight. I’m not concerned because I have seventeen weeks to complete my twelve-week schedule.

It sucks that we couldn’t go last night, I’m getting REALLY tired of working long days. I guess I should be thankful that I am employed but damn, I need to have a life outside of work.

I’m with Martha here, if you rest on your training days you need to run on your rest days. Go run before you go to Taco Mac 🙂

Sufferfest videos.. I got “Downward Spiral” and I couldn’t get through the last set of intervals. Hard, painful, abusive, masochistic… I love ’em. Tons of fun!

Thanks for the tip, Steve. I’m really considering downloading some of those videos soon so I can “cross train” by riding.
