Texas-Sized Update

Not included.

Sorry, but my priority is getting work done because if I get fired I can’t guarantee that I’ll get a job even though I in one of the hottest fields going today.

I was at the office until 9pm last night. With the exception of a few hours this afternoon to play some racquetball I expect to repeat this feat tonight.

Today’s Daily Challenge
Eat one food rich in vitamin E, such as cooked spinach, almonds, asparagus, or peanut butter.

Vitamin E plays a part in the formation of red blood cells, and it helps keep blood from clotting inside of blood vessels. It also strengthens the immune system, so getting sufficient amounts of this vitamin means you’ll be more likely to fight off any bacteria and viruses that cross your path.

I wonder if there was any vitamin E in the crackers, marmalade, and beer that I ate as “dinner” last night.

On Saturday night about twenty of the CocoaConf attendees went to a legendary barbecue place called The Salt Lick. I was hungry and when we arrived there was a 90-120 minute wait for this humongous establishment. The food is served family style and I ate enough to keep me satiated until about 4pm Sunday afternoon.

Today’s Personal Project
Get a working demo done so that I can refine it tomorrow.

Sorry you’re having to work so hard, but glad you still have a job.

I’ll be returning to my job tomorrow and it’s going to suck. I could get used to not getting out of bed until 9. But since we haven’t won the lottery… yet.

A nice quiet anniversary yesterday. Delicious sushi dinner followed by basketball (watching). I’d say the Cats gave the game away at the free throw line.

Since today is my last day off, we are trying to think of something fun to do. Waiting on the weather to warm a bit before we go out- maybe to the botanical garden.

And don’t forget the fence party this weekend. Fun for all the kids!

Yesterday was an IT day from hell…I spent most of the day on the phone with 8×8 (Jerry’s VOIP provider) and Comcast. After all that, we switched out the modem/router and everything is fine (for now).

Needless to say, after spending the better part of the day as Jerry’s IT person, I’m not behind with my actual job.

There is no way I would wait 2 hours for dinner…you know unless I was living in a refugee camp or something.

and to answer your vitamin E question, no…

  3. Steve, I’m planning on participating on Sunday, I’ll be down in the morning. Saturday may be filled with work and then rewarding myself with theatre attendance using the ticket I have already purchased.

Martha, normally I wouldn’t wait that long either. However the following were also true:
    – I did not drive
    – We were at least twenty miles from Austin
    – We were at least two miles from anything else
    – We were out in a nice picnic area (until it started raining a bit)
    – I had a free beer to tide me over
    – I got to talk to some of the iOS I admire
    – I heard it was worth it

    On the vitamin E: RATS!

  4. Jenka says:

I just can’t ignore this one: “my priorities are getting work done” should be “my priority is getting work done.” Nothing chaps my ass more than number disagreement!

  5. Nor should you ignore it. I have corrected this, thanks. Consider your ass less chapped. 🙂

  6. Martha says:

great, now I have assless chaps and Jenka both stuck in my head

    it.hurts.so.much!!

  7. Steve says:

    Oh my.

  8. Jenka says:

Please. 1. That’s hot; and 2. As opposed to those chaps *with* asses that are sweeping the sartorial nation?

  9. Martha says:

So you’ve seen the full ass chaps to which I’m refering to then… (and yeah, it is hot!)
