Spectacularly Unspectacular

That might be the best way to describe my day yesterday.

I woke up at 6:00am, showered, and then drove to work.
I worked an 11.5 hour day.
I drove toward home and stopped for dinner at a Chinese buffet on Buford Highway.
I returned home, wrote some code while listening to podcasts and some time after midnight fell asleep.

My entire day in a nutshell.

Today’s Daily Challenge
Review the directions on the labels of your medications.

Many medications can be unsafe, cause side effects, or don’t work as well when they’re taken incorrectly. Unfortunately, the labels on drugs can often be confusing, especially if you’re taking more than one medication. Reviewing the labels of your drugs can keep you from getting tripped up on vague or complicated directions.

Actually, good advice.

Sometimes A Little Familiarity Is Dangerous
The headline reads “Tickets on Sale for the Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival” and I was excited to read it.

“Dunedin? Dunedin, Florida? If this happens on a weekend that I don’t already have booked I can go to this and visit my mother!” I thought. And then I read the article, oh it’s happening on a weekend that for which I have no plans, but it’s occurring in the original Dunedin — in Scotland. Don’t get me wrong, I am actually more interested in attending this now, but there is no way that I can slip this into my schedule.

Dang, had I just one more photo to close out the week. My try-on eyeglass frames arrived at the office yesterday but the person responsible for getting and distributing the mail didn’t do so yesterday to I’ll have to try and get them today so that I can try them on (and take selfies) so that I can return them next week.

What’s Up For Your Weekend?
I mentioned my weekend plans yesterday, what do you have going on?

Big changes starting next week — stay tuned.

I want to go back to Chicago, its been 20 years at least. JoAnna was just there this week from work, posted a pic from her hotel right on the Chicago river. Brought back memories.

Allan has been a wood splitting machine the past 2 days, he’s got the majority of those 2 big trees all split & there is a huge pile of wood in the front yard. I meant to take a picture, but didn’t, maybe I will tonight. I think going to the firehouse will be good for him today, he might rest.

Not sure what all we are doing this weekend. There is a croquet party Saturday afternoon/evening, and a Wheelhopper Sunday that are good possibilities.

You know where I’ll be most of the weekend. Already done for the morning and waiting for lunch. Since the track is providing we might as well take the hospitality.

Late report on Debbie ‘ s dad is he’s having a bad day. Hopefully he’ll be better later. I think we haven’t seen his “normal” bad day in a while and hopefully that is all this is

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Had my follow-up visit this morning with my podiatrist to discuss the MRI I had last week. Turns out there is a definite fracture of the foot, he showed me the scan and it was clear as day. However, now that I’m wearing a boot, it appears to be healing faster than he anticipated. Before he looked at my foot this morning he said it would be another 4 weeks, and after he told me to come back in 2. I feel pretty confident that it’ll be fully healed in a couple of weeks, this boot is MAGICAL.

Kevin and I will be at the GP Crit on Sunday, Paulie; text if you want to meet up. We’ll have the kids with us so there’s always the possibility that we’ll have to pull the plug early, full disclosure.

  4. I’m probably not going to be able to make GP but if I can I’ll shoot you a text message. Thanks!
