The Decline Of My Ancient Civilization

Oh boy, blogging continues to get the blunt end of the stick. Again today I am busy, doing that thing that pays the bills and will also pay for the new iPhone that I may or may not get.

Here’s the deal. I hate large phones (and “phablets”). There is no real explanation, I just do and have scoffed at every behemoth Samsung/HTC I’ve seen the past few years. I’d happily buy a 4″ (as opposed to the 4.7″ and 5.5″ models) Apple will offer this Fall, except that is the current iPhone 5s and does not contain any of the newer technology being put into the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Pro (btw- I’m none to thrilled with the naming conventions either).

So I might actually get the lesser of two evils and buy a iPhone 6, the with 4.7″ screen.

But that sized phone won’t fit into the bicycle pack that I use, its front pouch barely accepts my current 4″ phone.

And then there’s the whole “put it into my pocket” deal. I’m a fat man who has large pockets, but still, do I want something that size in my pants?

Oh. The. Humanity!

I suppose there is no rush to buy, so I will have to think this through.

And while it is true that no one has ever wished that he/she had worked more when on their deathbed, I do need to get this code working so I’ll bid you adieu for today.

Cheers,
Paulie[eatl/ga]

The Grounds execs met at Stone Mountain prior to the meeting and saw the carnage wreaked on the field from the Yellow Daisy festival. Apparently late Sunday afternoon, there was about 2″ of rain that fell and several tent couldn’t stand the pressure and collapsed. That field doesn’t channel water as it should so there was a river going down it. Now it has 6 weeks to recover, or else it will look like shiite for us.

Off to go running at lunch…

We went to a friends house for dinner – they were grilling steaks. I was told, drink this red wine we have, we don’t like red wine. Carolyn pulls out a 2007 Silver Oak Cab. I was like….. um, we can’t drink that, it was way too nice of a bottle, you should save it for a more special occastion. But – we opened it, and it was excellent.

I was curious what kind of wine that was and pulled up a website- the first bottle of it on the list was $699!!! but it was a 6L!! Never found the 750ml, but I’m thinking a very nice $40 at least.

I think if you can find it at the regular wine store – probably $70-$80. It was $120 ont he silver Oak winery website.
I think I owe them a nice bottle of Chardonnay.
