What To Say?

I’m still super busy, but today being September 11th, now the thirteenth anniversary of the life-altering attacks on our country I don’t have much to say.

Last night was as pedestrian as could be, leave work, do laundry, go home, watch recording of MasterChef, fall asleep. I’m okay with that.

If I can get out of work early I might attend the monthly meet up of Mac/iOS developers at the new headquarters of Big Nerd Ranch in Kirkwood. Or, I might work late. Or, I might get exercise. Honestly, I cannot predict my day at this moment. I’m a little less okay with that.

Off to make the code…

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

I had a pretty boring day yesterday too.
Worked, went home & we smoked a meatloaf of the Egg. Allan’s mom came over, TJ’s flight was coming in at 8:30pm, so she was wasting time before going to the airport.

There is a brick ranch house across the street For Sale By Owner, built in the early 70s, 1 owner, would need to be totally renovated, that Mary is thinking about buying. She says she wants to downsize (& stop climbing stairs), but does she really? Only time will tell……..

While I love TJ and Mary, and they are neat folks, I’m not sure I would want my inlaws living right across the street. And I bet Allan would agree.

Rumor says our buyers are having some interest in their property, which means all the stars may yet align.

Interbike trade show is going on in Las Vegas. I had been assigned to be chief at the Crit championship that had been there in past years, and I was really looking forward to the show. Then the race got moved to St. Louis!! Ugh.

Today is my FRIDAY!! Yippee skippy!

Well – I can’t say out loud that I don’t want them across the street, and Allan figures he would have to help with plenty of the reno, so at least it would be close…… lol
But really, not sure if it would bother me that much, I’m sure they wouldn’t bother us all the time.
And – there would have to be a HUGE downsizing/purging to move to that house, which helps us in the long run. I don’t look forward to doing something with all the crap in their big house if they stay there forever.

And I know Allan, being the good son, would never say no…

Just bought a plane ticket to Iowa to visit the parents in October…….. it will be their 52nd anniversary, my sister & brother guilt tripped me. Found a “deal” @ $360.

  6. Enjoy your trip Barb.

A great friend of mine just sent me a text telling me that her mother passed away on Monday. According to her text she is still in shock.

This is my reminder to go to Florida sometime soon to visit my mother again before it’s too late for either of us.

A woman who I consider an officiating mentor just had her husband pass away- they are both in their 80’s. I looked into the possibility of going to the funeral tomorrow morning outside of Tampa, but thought better of it.

  8. Barb says:

that’s a big part of why I’m going to make it happen, my parents seem to be getting older by the minute anymore…… more & more health related stories, that aren’t really good stories.

Hey, Paulie! Friendly wager on the game this weekend? Say, beer flights at Wrecking Bar or something? 😀

  10. Stacy says:

    Fabulous! 🙂 Straight up score.

  11. Sure. I know that guarantees that I will lose, but I’m okay with that. 🙂
