MARTA->Uber, Uber->MARTA

Been using alternate transportation yesterday and today, at least I slept at home last night.

I will be picking up another rental today to protect myself from the worst possible outcome with the Jackmobile — because that’s what I am expecting. When contemplating new car expense I should factor in the amount I have spent on rental cars the past two years.

Also on today’s agenda is doing laundry and getting a haircut. All this in preparation for the next three days of attending CocoaConf.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

You weren’t anywhere near the Midtown station on your bike yesterday afternoon, were you? I swear the biker I saw looked exactly like you! Just didn’t know why you’d be there though.

Not me. I did walk from Arts Center to Colony Square however.

I thought about walking or riding my bike to MARTA this morning but the $8 Uber rise was too convenient.

Current Status: finishing up a relaxing breakfast at Mimi’s Cafe before walking to pick up rental car.

Your bike is still your friend but it is awfully hard to get on your bike with a chance of rain, instead of getting in a nice warm car.

I hope the Jmobile is still viable for a few more months.

Yesterday, after Debbie dragged her parents to the doctor, shopping and late lunch/early dinner, she swung by the house so I could take over driving in the dark. Gladly, I didn’t have anything planned for last night.

No Georges tonight, but I’m planning on the next 2 weeks.

And in case you need inspiration for getting on your bike, I’ll leave you with this:

STEVE- SOMEONE WAY TOUGHER THAN ME!

Allan is on the leaf blowing project, I think we have burned at least 3 times and there are still plenty left.

I worked a little more on the icicle lights, Allan is off work today, buying a few new strands, it just isn’t worth it to try to solve some issues without money. Need to get the lights on the trees (so it is easier to find the house in the dark for a month)

Another of our newer employees bit the dust today, this business isn’t for everyone. At least it is December, so it is slowing down.

  6. Steve says:

    Me too, Barb.

Peach says they think they have fixed the problem — right after I rented a car through next Sunday. Pffft! Going to keep rental, and deal with getting Jackmobile when my schedule permits.

I keep thinking that I should be getting a new car, trading the Jackmobile in while it still runs and has some value. I just hate the thought of getting a new car while living in East Atlanta…

In other non-news: I lost a wristwatch yesterday at the office. I was wearing it at lunch and then couldn’t find it when I was packing up to leave. It’s only a $70 Casio but I hate losing things.

  8. Barb says:

Met Dean (& Allan) for lunch at Tasty China – the $6.95 for soup & a lunch entree, it is a hell of a deal. I really think you get about as much food as you get at night. Allan has enough for plenty of leftovers for the firehouse tomorrow.

Paulie – now that you have the car running, it would be time to sell it – you’ll get a better trade in.
