Atlanta: City Of Wimps

I was set to return to LA Fitness yesterday afternoon. When I arrived at the parking lot in Brookhaven I was curious to see it so empty, but figured that just meant that not too many people were working out. In fact no one was working out as I found out when I walked up to the door only to find that it had closed early due to the “Winter weather advisory”. I was lucky to find Lucky’s Burger & Brew open, so at least I was able to have a couple of beers and a hamburger for dinner prior to their closure at 7:00pm.

Seriously people, the weather was not that serious last night and every updated projection stated this. After last year’s fiasco we’ve become a city of Henny Pennys.

I was home by 7:30pm.

It’s been a long time since I arrived home that early and was excited to see what I could accomplish. Apparently my accomplishment would be sleep, as I dozed off on the couch well before “Modern Family” started. I woke up five minutes into the episode, and then fell asleep again ten minutes later. When I awoke for the second time I decided to go into the bedroom, where I promptly fell asleep again until 3:00am. I flip-flopped between awake and asleep until finally getting out of bed this morning. I’m a weirdo.

No only did I not get any programming done I missed all of my “Must See TV”, thankfully I am currently copying “Modern Family”, “The Amazing Race”, and “America’s Best New Restaurant” from my DVR at work so that watch it on my iPad when I find some free time and can remain awake.

For Traffic Like This, Meaning The Lack Of It, I Say “Keep The Schools Closed”
Screw education if it means that I can leave the house at 7:30am and be at work by 8:00am! Sure, I’m going to be working all day today, and due to schedule constraints probably all weekend as well, but I’m not complaining right now.

ITP-Reader Stacy, If Trivia Is Still On Then I Am Still In
Just let me know. 🙂

  1. Bro. Bill AKA Ronnie says:

I was up at 4 AM. Strange sleeping habits run in the family. Just ask Mom.

  2. Stacy says:

Trivia is still on! Midtown Tavern (554 Piedmont Ave NE), 8:30pm start 🙂

  3. Very true, Ronnie. I guess I shouldn’t consider myself a weirdo, but rather just see it as a sign that I am just like the rest of the family.

Excellent! Expect me there by then, Stacy.

  4. Barb says:

I was awoken (is that the right word?) by a text from the boss, telling people if their area was bad, they could work from home. One guy that lives very near me stayed home. There is no bad roads in metro Atlanta. I think it is bullshit.

I see a very long lunch today in my future.

  5. Steve says:

No frozen precip was detected at JEFDSDR. The monsoon however, was fairly continuous.

The inspection of the new property went pretty well. The inspector was a hoot, and was embarrassed when he couldn’t find the main electrical panel. We turned the place upside down, and finally found it hidden by a piece of “art”. No major faux pas turned up, but Internet and Cell service still seem to be an issue. More work to do on that investigation. Debbie has a good idea of where she wants the barn, and I got to spend some quality time in the man castle- unheated man castle.

    More packing awaits…

still considering trivia Stacy, but a friend said she wanted to come over to use the hot tub, so that might win out.

  7. Jenka says:

Emory was closed yesterday and had a delayed opening today at 11. I could come into work at 11 every day, that was nice. Yesterday I literally wore my pjs the entire day.

  8. Barb says:

no trivia for me – my friend is coming over.
