Paying My Penance

This morning’s ride, the fourth day of riding in a row I might add, was difficult. There was little pep in the pedal but I succeeded, gaddammit.

It’s A Whole Different Ballgame
On Saturday evening I was convinced that I was going to double-up, riding in the morning and then later doing the Wheelhopper hash.

After “sleeping in” I decided to skip the morning road ride. Upon seeing the rain that came down yesterday morning, I was pleased that I made the right decision.

The skies cleared nicely by the time I had to drive up to Marietta for the hash. I rode really well for the first third of the ride, because it was all on road, and then suffered when we entered the off-road portion of the ride. The muscles and skills of riding trail are quite different from those used when riding on the road. I managed, however.

I also managed to have a beer too many yesterday afternoon while awaiting the hash’s circle. Ooof.

The evening wound up well with some delicious brats and tots cooked up by ITP-Readers Barb and Allan. It was a great way to cap off the weekend.

A Concert? Everything Old Is New Again!
Tonight I will be attending the Valient Thorr show at Drunken Unicorn. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Drunken Unicorn, it should be an entertaining night.

Cheers,

I wrenched my back riding the bike laying flour – its really sore today.
Good times yesterday after the rain finally stopped – it was a pain to get the trail laid in only 2 hours, but we managed to not screw it up too bad.

I was afraid it would be way too crowded at Breaststoke’s house, but it wasn’t that bad after all.

Project for this week – figure out what the hell we are going to do in Oregon for the week before InterAm starts.

  2. Because I shortened my trip considerably I really only have about two days before the hash activities start on Friday.

Many thanks to Barb and Allan for a good lay yesterday and delicious brats afterwards. My SNAFU on trail was my own doing I’m sure. I also rode much better after I jacked the saddle up anothe 3/4 of an inch.

What else happened this weekend?? We finished the ramp so Debbie’s dad can finally see the inside of the house. Friday, Debbie took the “new” bush hog over to Bear Creek and worked on a few trails and came home in the pouring rain. She also managed to get the tractor covered in dirt, so she must have been kicking up a storm.

Saturday evening, there was good sushi for dinner, then a trip to a reccomended grocery that was having a sale of Fred Flinstone sized steaks!! Had we carried them home on a window tray, the car surely would have tipped over. WILMA!!!
