Up And At’em

After falling asleep before 9:30pm and getting nothing accomplished a-gain, I was awake early enough to get out of the house by 6:15am. I made a stop for gas, cash, and a fattening breakfast at QT before driving it into the office by 7:00am. I was early enough to miss most of this city’s shitty traffic. It’s good to be in early given that I will be leaving equally early to drive to Colony Square for German class tonight.

Kudos To The QT Cashier
While waiting to pay for my coffee and doughnut the guy next to me was a dollar short for his purchase. I didn’t have a dollar in my wallet and was going to give the guy a dollar out my change. However, before my cashier could return me my change the other QT cashier dipped into his wallet and donated a dollar to the customer next to me. I thought that it was a nice gesture.

The Weather Is Bumming Me Out
I wound up scrapping last night’s bike ride. It was an easy decision to make since it was raining by 6:00pm. Instead I worked a little later than usual, made a stop at the Sidney-Marcus Target on my drive home, drove home, and ate dinner before falling asleep as previously mentioned. What a wild and crazy guy am I!

While I shouldn’t put much stock in a weather forecast I am hoping that the now-predicted rain for Thursday and Friday are wrong given that I plan to drive to Rutledge on Thursday afternoon to set up camp so that I can ride Friday morning. Setting up camp in the rain stinks. Maybe there is time for me to but a trailer like ITP-Reader Barb so I don’t have to worry about the weather. 🙂

Slow day in the blogosphere so that’s all I have for today.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

  1. I have learned something interesting about my body. Since cutting way back on caffeine ingestion my body is no longer capable of handling it well. I drank two cups of coffee this morning and I am WIRED right now! Not liking this feeling…

if it is raining Thursday night – you could probably crash inside the camper that night (how bad do you snore? LOL). JoAnna & Mike are claiming the bed for later that weekend – but they won’t get there until friday night or Saturday morning.

I did NOTHING last night but watch some TV. I had a crappy day at work – 2 co-workers out sick & 1 had totally f*cked up freight. I really wonder how she isn’t in trouble all the time, as every time I have to cover for her, its all messed up. I spent all day trying to solve stupid issues that a little paying attention earlier would have completely eliminated the problems. I was so grouchy – I passed up a nice meal with some friends at Local Three, a place I’ve never been & have wanted to go try out.

Tonight I need to start planning for STU. (I was going to do that last night, but wasn’t in the mood)

Paulie WIRED? Not sure we could tell the difference!! 🙂

I was about to go lumberjack a bit last night when I realized it had already begun raining, so off to the man cave to suffer for 40 minutes or so. Made dinner of ham sandwiches from the leftovers from the funeral, watched an episode of Madam Secretary and crashed early.

As I have a Games meeting tonight, I could sleep in an extra 10 minutes or so, but apparently Zelda knew I had overslept and was barking her head off. As far as I could tell, she was ready for me to get up so she could have her spot on the bed. Biotch.

  4. I need to ensure that I pack accordingly for any chance of rain both for camping and for cycling.

Starting to come down a bit. I ate a few handfuls of cashews and drank a large water in an effort to confuse my body into working off the caffeine.

I really like Madam Secretary. I find it an interesting show. I watched probably that same episode last night.

my sick slacker co-worker sent a text that she was still sick at 0615. I am even more pissed off at her today for that wake up call. (I don’t usually wake up until right before 7am)

  6. Oh yeah, I looked at the camping layout for STU and realized that I have been to that sunflower farm — nearly five years ago!

  7. Barb says:

glad you’ve been tehre before Paul – I know I never have. Why were you there?

  8. Went to photograph the sunflowers with some Flickr friends in 2011. Funny how things come around.

I wish I could make it to STU with you guys, Laura is running ragnar and I am doing support so the weekend is already booked. Hopefully the rains won’t be too bad, cleaning the camper after a muddy ragnar is not very much fun.

Barb, are you and Allan going to do any of BRAG this year?

  10. Barb says:

Bob – right now – probably not. We may come to the start on Sunday to socialize (since its right here in ATL). Kevin & Katrina & the kids will be here the first 2 weeks of August, so we need to rearrange some vacation days. Also, are you interested in another camping trip? (not sure when Travis starts school?)

  11. I’d love to do BRAG too but I’ll be taking off the following two weeks for my trip to Germany.

Please keep me in mind for camping trips. My summer is going to be crazy!

  12. bob says:

I’m totally interested in another camping trip! I have been thinking of returning to Twin Lakes near Clemson too. Mtn biking close by and floating at the campsites

  13. bob says:

This summer is pretty packed for me too, BRAG in June, Orlando over the 4th of July then Crested Butte Colorado for a week of riding at the end of July.
