Out Of My Element Again

It’s another last Friday of the month and I am again attending Creative Mornings Atlanta — a gathering of young, creative types. While no longer young I like to believe that I have a creative mind so I challenge myself to attend these meetups even though I will not be able to make the networking connections the young, hipsters will.

This month’s theme is “Risk”, which will be apropos to my life in a few months’ time, and is being held at SCADShow, the venue once known as the 14th Street Playhouse.

Because I am literally across the street from Goethe Zentrum I may pop in to see if I can check out a German movie before either heading work or calling in to take the day off. Let’s just say that I’m not feeling the pull to go to the office today.

Last night I once again played “Charlie” as it was me and four women at the dinner table. We started the evening at Brick Store Pub, migrated to Victory Sandwich (where I ate waaay too much food), and finished the evening at Leon’s Full Service. It was a walking tour of Decatur and we took a few selfies to send to one our dearly departed who now lives in sunny California.

Tonight I will be meeting the crew at Brewhouse in L5P. I am sure it will be another late evening of fun and alcohol. If the weather holds up I will be attending the Inman Park Festival on Saturday. What will actually happen this weekend is still unknown to me.

Have to go, the event will be starting soon.

Have a great Friday and weekend, friends.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Oh yeah, at Leon’s two cyclists shared our long picnic table. Having a few beers in me I chatted them up a bit and found out about a Thursday night ride that leaves from the CVS in Decatur. I may have to see if I can ride that ride some week soon.

Found details of more rides at Decatur Bikes

We finally made it to Paris for our 10th anniversary. There is a tack store in Paris Kentucky that specializes racing harnesses and other custom leather work from there we drove to the bourbon distillery took a little tour handling your taste. Then went out to a practice facility to see a couple of horses Debbie has had her eye on for some time.

Sushi for dinner and early night you were just starting to get rolling at 9 o’clock.

Off to the horse Park shortly to do some shopping and then Keeneland for racing tonight.

I think I did that Thursday night ride a long, long, long time ago with Janie.
    You should go try it.

I decided a crock pot beef roast was something we hadn’t done in a long while, so I thought I’d be like everyone else on the internet & try the Mississippi roast recipe. It was a tasty recipe, but we decided the best part was making gravy from the drippings – that was extra tasty. We had to have mashed potatoes with a roast of course. Mary & TJ came over, as did another couple. Great time on the deck – weather was perfect temp last night.

Not sure what we are up to this weekend – I have to work for a few hours tomorrow morning, all the usual Saturday people can’t do it, so I decided I’d help out & earn a little OT money.

Poop, “Leon’s” in my comment should have read “Victory”, that’s where the cyclists joined our table.

Imagine the crowd at the Dogwood Festival shops, only selling horse tack. 90% female.
