Still Living On Deutschland Time?

I woke this morning at 3:00am and was not able to get back to sleep until about 6:00am, at which time I had about 45 minutes before I absolutely had to get out of bed in order to go to work. I could blame time shifting on this, or I could remember that even before going to Germany sleep was not necessarily a constant companion.

Happy Canada Day, Eh!
A very happy Canada Day to anyone who may read this space north of our border.

I Do This To Myself
I stopped to buy gas at a QT on Buford Highway this morning. It was crowded but for some reason I decided to go inside. Initially I was going to buy coffee, and perhaps a doughnut. Instead I walked out with some sweet tea (cold) and a couple of corn-tortilla wrapped thingamajigs that have been spinning on hot rollers for who knows how long.

I miss the German breakfasts already.

Rhine Panorama (Rüdesheim Edition)
On my first rest day I took a bucket ride up to the top of the hillside. At the top there was a large monument (shown below), a bar/restaurant, and this magnificent view of the Rhine. You can see a smidgeon of the many acres of vineyards this region of the world has to offer.

Rüdesheim is the town you can see down and to the left, and if I remember my geography correctly, Bingen is the town you see up and to the right. The photo of the bicycle that I posted previously was taken on the car ferry that I had to use in order to cross from Rüdesheim to Bingen. If you can click through to my Flickr stream this photo looks better larger.

If I Can Survive This
Tonight I am doing something that I’ve not done in many years. Go on a date? Ha, as if. No, I will be attending a Spinning class.

In talking with my boss yesterday he told me that he got talked into going to a Spinning class being taught by one of his Aquarium cohorts. The class is free, for the first hit, so I decided to join him tonight.

I know that I will not be great, I have been suffering some cardio-related issues since last week, but I’m going to give it a shot.

Whatever doesn’t kill you, right? Hopefully I’ll be able to laugh about that last sentence in a blog post on Monday.

But Monday Is The 4th Of July!
Yep, and I will be posting a blog post. Because ‘merica!

Have a great and safe long weekend friends.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Maybe I kept seeing today’s blog and thinking it was yesterday’s, considering the similar titles.

I managed 20 or so on the road bike last night. Despite the heat. It actually didn’t feel too bad once I got rolling and was riding away from the rain. I know one BIG drop hit me, at least I think it was rain. And no flat tires!

I got wrapped up in watching a Wimbelton match this morning- in the 5th set, Mano a Mano and the rair started coming down. Oh well.

Off to the feed store. We’re wild.

I wondered if my similar titles confused every one.
