Perhaps. Let me explain.
A Study In Green
On the next-to-last day of my being an employee of the company for which I worked for nearly twenty years I attempted to exercise and sell my stock options. I say “attempted” because I think that the transaction occurred, I need to follow up with my brokerage to ensure that it has. [update: I have received my trade confirmation.]
Before you think that old Paulie is now going to become someone’s Sugar Daddy, let me tell you that if the transaction has occurred I made about $3000, before taxes, so it’s not like I’m swimming in cash now. Admittedly this will be the first income I’ve received in two months, so I’ll take it.
A Study In Orange
I had to wait until the stock market opened to pull the trigger on my options yesterday so I couldn’t get out on the bike as I expected.
Decked in my orange-banded Apple Watch, a neon-orange technical t-shirt, and a pair of newish running shoes that have splashes of orange I headed out from the ITP Estate for a run/walk.
Yes, you read that correctly.
I ambled around the neighborhood for about two miles at a slightly-faster-than-walking pace before pulling up and walking another two-and-a-half miles back to the house.
This was the first non-hash running that I have done in years and my body has not let me forget that since; my right groin was unusually tight yesterday, and this morning I am feeling muscle groups in my legs that haven’t been abused in many years.
Why this insanity? Because I’ve committed to doing a 5k in November and feel as if I should have some training before attempting it.
One Last Time
I headed back to Dunwoody yesterday afternoon to have one last happy hour with some of my former coworkers. We had some beer and laughs at The Bird before I returned back inside the perimeter to have dinner at Smoke Ring in Castleberry Hill, where I also watched most of last night’s NFL game.
Off To Raleigh Again
When you read this I am most likely in the M6 making my way back up to Raleigh to visit the Raleigh Royalty. Tomorrow night we’ll be celebrating the aging of Randy with a party at Carolina Brewing.
Okay, have to keep this short as somebody has yet to pack for this journey…
Have a great weekend friends!
