Wee Didn’t Make The Cover

Yesterday was a really slow news day in my world and that’s a good thing. I’ll take a lot more of those between now and year’s end and figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life in 2017.

I received the 2017 Sojourn Bicycling & Active Vacations catalog in the mail yesterday. Sadly I, Wee, didn’t make the cover. However, a photo from the Bike & Brew Tour that I rode did:
Sojourn Bike Tour
From left-to-right that’s Andy, Susan (Sojourn trip leader), and Todd (the guy who knows one of my college roommates)

But look at that! I am one of the models for the Lake Champlain — Vermont trip. That’s me on the right, yes bringing up the rear. ๐Ÿ™‚
Sojourn Bike Tour
While I didn’t technically do the “Lake Champlain — Vermont” trip, it’s not false advertising because I did ride a cycling tour in Vermont that went around (and across) Lake Champlain. It’s funny, at first I wasn’t certain that it was me in the photo; remember, I didn’t bring my helmet or bicycle to Vermont. However, I recognize the Molson jersey as well as my physique, and the orange-banded Apple Watch is a dead giveaway. I know, it’s hard for you to see these details but this is the best photo I could take this morning.

I am also in the background of a small photo of some of us drinking at a bar near the end of one of the Bike & Brew’s days. That photo was impossible for me to reproduce.

Ah, better days.

Good Days Ahead
At least that is what I am hoping…

I’m looking forward to lunching with some of you today. It appears as if the weather will be ideal so I hope to incorporate some exercise into my day after consuming a delicious lunch.

Planning Ahead
I confirmed that my final German class of this term is December 13th. Therefore today I will continue one of my near-annual Christmas traditions by purchasing a ticket for “The Santaland Diaries” at Horizon Theatre. I’ll be buying one of the $25 tickets for the Tuesday, December 20th performance. Join me on that night if you’d like.

  2. Stacy says:

Woo hoo! Lookit Paulie, our magazine model! If I print this out, will you autograph it for me at lunch? ๐Ÿ™‚ All jesting aside, that’s really pretty cool.

Bring your camera when you come into town today. So much is going on downtown these days and the street decorations are starting to go up, so there’s much to shoot. Also, in killing time before the ATL UTD kit release party last night I discovered the newest art exhibit in the library here. It’s called City Scapes, and it’s really quite good. That’s just a few blocks from where we’ll eat. It’s small, but I think you might enjoy it.

And speaking of camera and photo shooting, let’s plan on something again? Dolls Head Trail was way too long ago now. Facebook dieties tell me it was back in March already.

  3. Since I will be walking back to my car after lunch, that’s going to be the exercise to which I referred, I will only be packing the iPhone, but it’s quite capable of taking decent photos.

I know that we did that in March because I looked up when my eye swelled and that occurred on the Monday after our trip around the Dolls’ Head Trail.

  4. A huge wrench just got thrown into my life’s machine. I will be there for lunch today, but all other future plans are now tentative.

    What’s going on? Everything OK?

You’re getting much more vague in your posts, you know. Totally your blog, so naturally you can do what you want. But gosh I hope you’re not becoming one of those annoying Facebook-type-people we refer to as “Vaguebookers” who only give half stories wanting people to either ask questions or ignoring them when they do.

    (You’re better than that.) ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Steve says:

Yeah, this has a whole level of not good going with it.

The staff conference wasn’t a whole lot of new info, but our director made a presentation about where technology might be in the near and long term that was very interesting. Research that is already working in places that will be more commonplace and what we might need to be prepared for.

After a couple weeks of the trainer on my own, I finally fired up the Sufferfest last night. The workout is so much better when you are simply riding what the screen says to do for as long as it says. I’ve been trying to increase my time each week and it worked pretty well last night.

I didn’t realize the annual staff Thanksgiving meal was today- I’ll pass up on free lunch to come meet with you good people.

    See you soon.

  7. Stacy says:

Awwww, thanks FP! ๐Ÿ™‚ I feel the love!

What I would do? Tell them I have a commitment I can’t get out of but come back from lunch with a nice big Ziplock container to take leftovers home with. (Er, assuming it’s a potluck-y type Thanksgiving meal.)

  8. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

    Sorry to be vague.

Things are the same with me, but there is going to be at least one trip to
Florida in my near future. When details are known I might share more here, if not I will give updates the old fashioned way รขโ‚ฌโ€œ via email.

  9. Barb says:

    Hi everyone –
spent the day floor tiling the bsement – it takes so much longer than you think it will -we only got half way done.
I’m tired, stiff & sore, and we still have more to do.
what were we thinking tiling a 400 square foot room.

Paulie – if you are bored – Thursday afternoon (after a Red Eyed Mule burger lunch) & Friday most of the day, will be tiling, or maybe/hopefully even grouting. I know you want to……….(hahahahaha). I promise something decent (froma a crock pot) for dinner.
and – any other blog reader is welcome to help.
the things we do to get a pool table.

Have a fun lunch, I get to go to Floor & Decor to buy grout.

  10. Steve says:

And there’s a wheelhopper up in your neighborhood Sunday!! Depending on what the mizzus has planned for us, I may break away.

  11. Barb says:

if we aren’t grouting – we may go to Wheelhopper
-but I have a horrible feeling we will still be grouting

I think my arm is ok to ride again, after all the tiles I lifted yesterday – it still hurts, but I can do stuff.

  12. Paulie [eatl/ga] says:

Who knows Barb, you may be hearing from me… I will know better tomorrow.
