Pre-Coffee Coffee

It’s the last Friday of the month which means I am attending the meet up of beautiful, young people known as Creative Mornings. This month’s speaker is Susan Booth, who you know if you have followed any of the ongoings in the Atlanta theater world.

I am starting my day at Dancing Goats on North Avenue because this month Creative Mornings is meeting at City Winery, just outside of Ponce City Market proper.

Of course my day started with having to updated another account from my old Visa to a new credit card, this time it was the Parkmobile app as I committed to paying $6.30 to park this morning. If I were confident in my ability to walk I would have parked on a side street nearby and saved the money, but why not pay for parking when you are incapable of doing much else. Harrumph!

All Day, At Home
It’s a good thing for me that “XYZ Corp” has a fairly liberal work policy because UPS did not arrive at the ITP Estate until after 7pm yesterday. By that time I had worked a full day at home, including attending our engineering team meeting via a teleconference, and given up the idea of driving to Costco to renew my membership using the newly-delivered Visa card.

Dangen!

I have a new boss at “XYZ Corp”.

Unrelated: I may want to start working on my exit strategy lest I want to be a super-hero developer again (spoiler alert: this is not what I wanted to do when I resumed working, I wanted to be a cog, and not the hub, in a midtown wheel).

Except for not being able to go to Costco, as well as eating way too much food from my refrigerator, yesterday was a productive day because I had mowed the lawn and did a lot of work for work. I also mananged to watch a few more episodes of Silicon Valley and churn through hours of podcasts.

Slow-Moving Weekend
Because of my current hip situation, that I will start working on remedying next week, I haven’t planned much for this weekend.

Tonight I may be joining my friend Bill for happy hour. My attendance it predicated on his attendance. If Bill decides not to go out for a beer I may find my own watering hole or go out for a nice dinner instead.

Tomorrow I may be going over to Sanitary Not’s new house to see her son Kevin who is in town from Colorado this weekend.

Of course there will also be German homework as well as “life skills improvement” in the mix. For the latter I hope to get my new(ish) Mac Mini running Jenkins so that I can upload my code to Github and have the Mac Mini pull my changes, build the app, run the unit tests, and automatically deliver it to beta testers. Hey! Listen to my bullshit! It sounds as if I am in interview-mode already!

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Cheers,
Paulie [eatl/ga]

Finally out of bed. My cold persists and I’ve started taking drugs. Since there isn’t a cure, I know they just treat symptoms, so I tend not to take anything and just ride it out. May go for a ride later to burn some of it out.

Word from the garage is they think it’s the computer (weren’t we here last week?) but are having trouble finding one. I hope they pulled the trigger yesterday and will have my car back today.

The Vuelta seemed like a heavyweight fight yesterday. A whole lot of road left, this should be interesting.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Sounds like you may not be aware of the German Bierfest in Woodruff Park tomorrow from 2:00 to 6:00.

  3. Back from eating way too much at Tin Lizzy’s. Oddly, this is the first time I have eaten there since April.

Surely we’ll hit OK Cafe for dinner. Surely.
