I thought that I would embrace my inner-farmer this morning by rising early and tending to my fields (lawns). Instead I chose to embrace my inner-commuter and get to work before traffic becomes shitty. The lawns will be dealt with this afternoon as my exercise for the day.

  1. Apple denied my (“XYZ Corp”) app, and with that decision stole away my easy Friday…

This was another reason I chose to get to work earlier, rather than later, today.

  2. I feel sheepish admitting this, but I think I just learned that with Amazon Prime in addition to videos and music, there are also free books and magazines that can be read?

Read, like printed paper? How quaint.

Caught the bus home and begged for a “courtesy stop” by the shop. Car was ready to go, unlike the last time. Like riding on a cloud.

Debbie’s mom is in the hospital. Tests came back good, but a fever remains. Prayers and healing thoughts appreciated.

Happy Friday. Come watch some bike racing in Hapeville or College Park.

    • Read, as in Kindle. This is Amazon after all.

      Best thoughts for Debbie’s mother.

Ummm I’m always talking about my free Kindle reads??? #thanksforlistening

      • I do listen, but I thought that Amazon only offered one or two titles a month for “free”. I never realized how much “free” stuff was available.

        • Bonnie says:

Ah, yeah, I guess I don’t talk about that as much because I am usually too lazy to dig through all that, and since I usually have enough to keep reading already…

    • barb says:

hope Debbie’s mom gets to feeling better.

      When are the races?
we are at a standstill with the kitchen until we get the plumber scheduled, got a pretty good estimate moneywise yesterday, waiting on the other estimate. Plumber#3 blew off the apt, so we are just ruling him out. (start off annoying us, no need to even call him back)

      • Steve says:

We start at 9 both days and I think Pro men start at 5?

There’s obviously a lot happening this weekend. A big bike ride for Grady is also happening.

    • Bonnie says:

      {Good thoughts to Debbies mom.}

  4. Also remember a few things:
    – AH4 2000 is tomorrow! The hash starts at Glenwood Park Kroger. 🙌🏻
    – this weekend is the Shaky Knees Music Festival in midtown. If your travels take you around Central Park, you may want to consider an alternate route.
    – Sunday is Cinco de Mayo, and unless you are a masochist you may want to take my advice and drink at an Irish bar instead. 😉

We went for a walk around the neighborhood last night, there are quite a few lawns that need to be tended to A LOT. If I was the Cobb code enforcement guy, I think I’d have fun writing warnings right about now.
I feel bad for the people with the nice yards next to the 2 foot high weeds yard.

Allan bought a pork butt at Kroger yesterday, so looks like we will have a deck gathering Sunday if any of y’all feel the need to come to Cobb county. We need to move the fridge to the garage (& maybe something else heavy) so if you come, you might get lucky enough to help with that.

See some of you Saturday -Dean told me he got hijacked into helping with trail – I hope this is a good time. Sex Toy from Toronto must have been bored, she’s coming to town for this.

Oddly my house, except for that “nice yard” part, is one of those as my neighbors tend to never mow their front lawn.

Sunday, weather permitting, will be my annual trip to Georgia Tech for a baseball game.

      • Barb says:

ok – truthfully, some aren’t “nice” yards, but at least they try a little by cutting their grass & weeds.

    • Bonnie says:

Thanks Barb, but I will be attending a Cinco de Mayo gathering down south in Newnan at my friend Ashlye’s house. Grapefruit margaritas, yum! (Not all here will agree on that point 😁.)

    • Bonnie says:

Got the annual threatening letter from the HOA about yards. Pshaw, they don’t enforce anything here, but I guess I should at least tackle a few more weeds… Most of the weeds are nearer the rear of the house… however so is the HOA presidents house… Besides all the original mid-2000s plantings looking like shit (a story for another year) I need to at least replenish a ton of gravel and mulch. And reline all the beds with weed barrier first. Ugh. That’s not going to be cheap.

  6. With an “open” night, I think I will be whipping up a batch of vegetarian jambalaya using the ingredients already in my pantry, refrigerator, and freezer. Woot!

Went to a way to healthy place for lunch, right next door to the Root Canal Place.
Called Good Food & Market – they have zoodles, caulirice, etc. I had a thai salad, it was good, but I’m still hungry.

  8. I was hoping to leave early today, now I have no idea when I can leave. I have been waiting since 8:30am for Apple to review my app.

  9. Just finished listening to my re-listening of “The Sunshine Show”; its ending saddened me again…
