Today’s status is not much different than yesterday’s.

I tried to use my new AppleCard credit card last night and failed. I made a contactless payment at Target and my American Express card was charged. Then I tried using the physical credit card at Kroger and the reader said there was a chip malfunction. I know I activated the card in Thursday. I’m a bit flummoxed. What’s the benefit of using an AppleCard? I get cash back, that’s all.

    any word on your rim?

Annette had a good interview (she thinks) and has another phone interview this morning. then she heads back to Athens. Had a nice dinner with her & some friends last night – cutest/worst waitress in a long time, but she was brand new, had almost no training, it was comical. Good thing we didn’t care how long things took. We taught her how to open a bottle of wine on the 1st bottle, she broke the cork on the 2nd bottle.

I lovely morning to sit on the deck and eat my breakfast with the neighborhood dog Lily. Managed to get the tractor rear differential to release last night so that’s a win. I also located the vibration on the Bush Hogg so that is also a win.

About to go ride my bicycle after I clean the barn and bring the ponies in. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to blow the dust off my motorcycle as well.

  3. In “Paulie’s Ongoing Health Issues” news: for the past few days my throat has been bothering me again, always feeling phlegmy and partially constricted. A few years ago I went to an ENT, no solid diagnosis. I guess I’ll try giving up caffeine again for awhile since that seems to irritate my esophagus. It’s always something…

If blood to the heart and air to the lungs and brain weren’t so critical I would be in great shape. 🤷🏻‍♂️🥳

  4. Hooray, rim has been repaired! 🎉🎉🎉

Lurker—my seats at the game last night didn’t suck, they were awesome. Sight lines weren’t obstructed as the seats are elevated enough from the field. The only thing is every once and a while the elevated cameraman was in the way. The seats also afforded access to the Delta Sky360 Club. I didn’t think I’d care about it, but it was pretty nice and now I’m spoiled LOL. They had my $3 vegan hotdogs down there, my game-staple Hopsecutioner, and Sublime doughnuts. Score! These resale tickets were only slightly more than what people were re-selling in the nosebleed section. I guess this person wanted to unload them quickly? Hope you had fun!

    • Speaking of Sublime doughnuts, I just ate one. Whoops! It’s a good thing I’m meeting Barb for a later lunch.

    • Barb says:

did you have to pay $3 for that hotdog?
Delta 360 club is the bomb – I don’t want to ever sit in the poor people seats again!

      • Bonnie says:

Barb, yes I paid for everything. The regular hot dogs are $1.50, but $3 for the “vegan surcharge”… I’m sure you don’t believe it but vegan hot dogs are pretty good!

Bonnie, you were on the other side of the stadium from me. Yes, I was only joking that your seats might be obstructed, the stands are high enough for everyone to be able to see over the melee of people on the sidelines. It boggles my mind the number of people getting paid to stand around at NFL games. I realized as I was leaving the game my seats get me access to the Mercedes Gullwing club, so if these fall in my lap again next year, I’ll take advantage of that. I also had a Red Deck parking pass. Previously my parking was in the Gulch, which was close enough for me. But man, the Red Deck. You take one elevator, and then you’re at the front of the stadium. My friend hasn’t ever experienced event seating or parking like that, so it blew his mind.

My dinner was a Fred’s Meat and Bread Cheesesteak, just as good as from Krog Street market, and the same price. I also got a Sublime Donut. I asked if they had my favorite, the one with strawberries and whipped cream. Initial answer as no, but then the cashier said let me look in the back. She found one for me! I was drinking Goose Island IPA because it was convenient, but I also saw a craft beer stand where I could have gotten picky if I wanted to.

I am definitely spoiled. I don’t care much about sports in general unless some kind of crazy tickets fall in my lap. I did wonder how that elevated camera man didn’t keep mowing people over as he moved along the side.

At any rate, I had a great time, and it sounds like you did too.

      • Bonnie says:

Yeah I’m not exactly a big sports fan in general, but I like the “event” of a sporting event. I do like hockey and soccer more, though. I should have asked them to properly fill the Oreo-covered doughnut with “Oreo icing” like they do at the regular location LOL. If I’m drinking $9 beer then I’m going to seek out the one with the highest ABV 😂. I’ve only taken MARTA to MBS so I’ve never experienced parking. When I lived on the west side I used to park in a $5 lot on Marietta when I went downtown that was a bit of a hike but I just hate to pay $$$ for parking. It’s since been raised to $10 I think and they now charge “event parking” sometimes. The Gullwing Club looks nice—on a stadium tour I took they let us peek in the door but we couldn’t go inside. The tour let us stomp all over the “lesser” Delta Club LOL. Fun fact: Paulie and I were both on that same tour when we “kind of knew each other” before we were “real friends”.

        • ITP Lurker says:

That’s a fun fact about the tour. Red Deck parking is $60, but my pass was free. I guess I spent $60 on food/beer, but would never spend $60 on parking before even getting in the door. I’m with you on the event part of sporting events! And yes, my strawberry donut was a bit wilted, but given the trouble the person went to find it for me, I was good with it. I’m just glad they only had *one* of those around. 🙂

  6. Excellent meaty lunch with Barb.

Getting rim job done now. Yeah, I said that. 😁

  7. Oh, and I got gas at QT and the mag strip on my new AppleCard worked. Yippee!

its the little things………. isn’t it?
and – lunch was excellent – thanks for meeting up with us.
