‘Tis the Friday before a Wednesday Christmas and it’s apparent that no Christmas cards will be mailed this year.

Today I will hoof it over to my long-time optometrist for my annual eye exam. I’m going to miss the convenience of walking to my appointments at Colony Square when I am no longer an employee of “XYZ Corp” (whenever that occurs).

Last night was a mostly relaxing evening except for the unavoidable glass in the road (Home St in Grant Park) that I attempted to avoid while driving to Ghetto Kroger to get two ingredients for my dinner. Nothing like introducing a new concern days before an eight-hour high-speed drive…

My dinner was a large platter of roasted vegetables — carrots, turnips, sweet potato, Brussels sprouts — the last two of which were purchased yesterday. The meal was simple, delicious, and used up two ingredients that had no other purpose while sitting in my refrigerator. I fell asleep watching Elf.

  1. I am keeping my fingers crossed that my last Christmas purchase arrives tomorrow. 🤞🏻

    That dinner sounds pretty good.

My gout flare up went into overdrive last night. I laid on the sofa, trying to find a non-painful position to rest. Soaked in the hot tub for 20 minutes (which I don’t think helped). When I got up this morning, I started slow but picked up speed- almost walking normally as I got to the shower. Caught my heel on the last step as I left the house and thought I was going to pass out it hurt so. I’ve just sent an email to the podiatrist about a script that supposedly takes care of this issue. We’ll see.

Party with the fox hunt crowd tomorrow evening. Christmas with Debbie’s fam Sunday. Mine wants to gather on Christmas day and we had already decided that would be our time.

Travel safe. Word to your mother.

  3. Back from eye doctor, nothing major has changed. However, I just realized that I failed to get a physical copy of my prescription so that I can buy new glasses next year if I desire. Poop. Oh well, I guess I can drop in at any time…

Have decided to take 12/30 as a paid day off, which means with other paid days off, and other holiday closures, that today is my last work day of 2019. Woot!

We survived the Hooligan bike pub crawl – didn’t even ride 4 miles.
Allan as the Heat Miser was quite the hit – no one really knows the Snow Miser, I felt forgotten (haahahahahaha)

Have a non eventful roadtrip to Florida………

Right now we don’t have anything locked down for Christmas plans – might cook a nice dinner Tuesday night, might go to a movie.
I think Chinese with some friends is going to happen Christmas Day.
