Yesterday was a mundane Monday.

At a certain point I decided that my body needed a recovery day and decided to skip any for of exercise, including the Moonlite hash.

About the only thing that made yesterday different was that I threw caution to the wind and cranked up the oven to roast vegetables and sausages, knowing well that the ITP Estate’s A/C would not be happy about this.

Depending on when you read this I may be walking to vote, standing in line to vote, or I have voted.

Hope you are staying well, friends.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 203.8 pounds (-2.6 from last week’s weigh-in); inconceivable!

Long lines to vote in Decatur.
Several precincts (formerly held in churches) consolidated down to a single location (Decatur Rec Center).
Multiple lines, by former precinct to get inside.
    Chaos.

I arrived early at 6:45am, parked for free (before 8:00am), lucked into the correct lien for my precinct and once I got inside, was in/out in 10 minutes.

The whole “vote on a machine, record to card, print out then…scan” is well…comical.
The state doesn’t have anybody that “smart”, that’s $4,000/day consultant stuff right there.

I was a tiny bit confused by the process- as I though the “machine” tabulated my ballot and had simply printed my choices. Thought I could leave with the printout!! God only knows what that QR code really says!

A quiet Monday- get on some calls, solve some problems, dissuade the donkey from coming in the house !!! Minnie Pearl was coming up the handicap ramp, and since she already is able to open the door to the mancave (requiring us to LOCK IT!) pushing the door open to enter the house would be nothing!

I cut grass while Debbie got on the tractor to finish the pastures. Got back inside and found a tick!! No high grass, not in the woods, nothing. Ick.

    Glad we voted last week!

  3. In line for an hour now. Made it about halfway so far.

*Fist bump* Paulie! I am 126 (+1.0 from last week’s weigh in). Oh well, I deserve it. Planning to eat healthy and exercise this week—so far, so good! Ran 5 miles on the Southside Trail yesterday.

This morning I had my first visit to CHaRM since “before COVID”. If you don’t care, you can skip the rest. 🙂 Instead of dropping by anytime during open hours, you now make an advance 15-minute appointment. Instead of parking once and walking around to divvy up your recyclables into their respective bins, it is a one-way drive-through course. You stop your car at each area and unload that particular item. Some of the areas have moved but it’s all marked and employees are helpful. You need to have everything pre-sorted as they claim they will enforce your 15-minute appointment. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Masks and gloves are required. The only bad thing is the need to disinfect your car afterward since you get in and out multiple times after touching random recycling bins, etc. Oh, and sadly, they no longer accept waxy cartons! That is the bulk of my CHaRM recycling (mostly plant milk containers). Apparently they are harder to recycle these days so CHaRM has no where to send them off to. Boo! Paulie, keep planting seedlings so I can give you my cartons. 😁

    • Good on you too!

Okay, at least for awhile you can pawn some of those cartons on me. For those not in the know, some of the pepper seeds I planted in egg cartons are starting to sprout! 😁

  5. Done! One minor hiccup following orders, but my votes have been cast… or so I think.

The attendant didn’t tell me to insert my card first. At the end I printed my votes and the machine told me to remove my card but then I saw the “Finish” button. I had to do the process all over again, which is why I don’t know if I really voted. Oh well, my vote rarely counts…

  6. I really need to make a Kroger run but it’s too hot, and getting hotter, and I have no interest in going out again today.

Almost walked to the village to see what was open for food takeout, but just wanted to get back home.

    • Huh. That kinda bums me out. BNR is one of the local firms for whom I had wished to work and interviewed, but was turned down. The story mentions doubling their headquarters in “East Atlanta”, but the headquarters resides on Arizona Av off Dekalb Av, which the pedant in me will refer to as “east Atlanta”.
