Second half of June is underway and I still have many chores to finish before month’s end.

The lure of pizza drew me to the hash last night. Sure, it rained buckets about two hours before the hash was to start, which always means there will be a clusterf*ck of some sort, but pizza… Bonnie had seen on the FBs that the hare was out laying the trail again, and I saw that it was to be “5+ miles”. Undeterred Bonnie and I arrived early, and were out on trail early. Along the way the hare’s boyfriend passed us and warned us that the trail was over seven miles long, ugh, but Bonnie and I were already committed. About 7.5 miles later we arrived, nearly DFLs, and rewarded ourselves with pizza. People don’t seem to understand the concept of a Monday night trail. The trail was cool, and well marked, but this trail could have easily been cut in half and it still would have been a good time.

I’ve been up and at it since 5am. Once I saw temperatures in the high 50s, low 60s, I knew I needed to capitalize in order to bake a pumpkin bread. I’ve also washed the dishes I created baking it, washed and hung a load of laundry, and just finished eating two hard boiled eggs for breakfast.

I had intended to go out and pull weeds on this blissfully cool morning, but everything is wet and I have other figurative fish to fry today. Perhaps tomorrow morning…

Hope you are all staying healthy.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 201.6 pounds (-2.1 from last week’s weigh-in); Incredible! I can’t go back to office life, I am losing weight!

*Fist bump* yo! You’re almost to the elusive 200 lb. mark!!! From last night’s trail, “So Close!” 😁 Myself, not as good, 126.5 (+0.5 from last week). It doesn’t sound that bad but the knowledge that within the past week I was at 123 makes it harder to swallow. I’m the queen of the yo-yo. Again, my fault for partaking in a weekend of debauchery, including talking Paulie out of eating healthy homemade vegan African stew in favor of Midway’s corn dogs and fries instead. At least we split it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My planned ride to Stone Mountain isn’t going to happen this morning after mostly running that long trail, perhaps this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

    • I can’t explain it, but I will take it!

Sorry about your ride postponement. I’m sure one of the reasons I didn’t go into the back yard this morning was being worn out from last night. I was flabbergasted when I saw that it was 10:45pm when I got home.

Who lays a 7 mile Monday night trail? That is excessive, even if it is an A to A. I miss Avondale Pizza. I paid a lot of their light bills and mortgage over the years.

After work, we made a quick run to the grocery as I was out of coffee!!! Yesterdays cup was barely half strength. Grass cutting, trainer riding and making pizza for dinner wrapped up the evening.

I really need to go see the podiatrist and see what they can do for my left heel so I can get running again. Any pressure on it is painful. Barefoot is almost out of the question. I think it’s just plantar fasciitis, but it could be a toomah.

    • Trails were creeping up in length right before the shutdown occurred. I don’t like the trend. I guess I could volunteer to lay trail to set a counter example.

Ack! I wish you the best of luck.

my heel finally started feeling better – I guess it was plantar fasciitis, as I did nothing more than some stretches here & there.

      • Steve Brady says:

There are times I think it’s getting better and then I go to stand up after having it in a relaxed position and I quickly learn it isn’t.

    • Bonnie says:

At least trail was “easy”—that made all the difference. It wasn’t like running a 7-mile Black Sheep. My app showed only a 325 foot elevation gain, though it did seem like there were a lot of gentle inclines.

  3. My WiFi is acting up today. I am on cellular currently. I might just ditch work and do some chores.

If it wasn’t for that whole WFH thing, I’d be outside doing yardwork while it’s cool outside.

Paulie’s bike is fixed, but Allan needs to figure out the cost of the repair.
Sourced a new derailleur from a friend (none to be found thru the normal ordering process) but had to do a barter – Chattahooligan network is good for the barter game. Then the bike needed 2 new tires, and some sort of pulley.
He will figure it out soon.

We finally finished off Mr Mercedes on the DVR last night – Stephen King is one weird writer – show was good, but pretty weird.
Next up is Prodigal Son – I’ve heard good things about it.

    • Bonnie says:

      Yay for Paulie’s bike!

    • Thanks again, Barb!

I was afraid the derailleur would be problematic. If I can still pick it up Friday, and can bring a guest (ITP Reader Bonnie) I will have whatever form of payment is required. Also, if TC is involved these two veg heads would like to partake in the ordering, eating, and of course paying.

Ken is coming over to work with Allan on his bike, and he wants to have TC.
so – sure – that will work
