Welcome to another end of month blog post.

As I type this I am cooling down from the shower I took after putting in 45 minutes on the trainer this morning. I started a little later than I hoped to because I fell back asleep and slept through my alarm by 45 minutes.

This week I have been in a bit of a foul mood, for no specific reason. I think my health, nothing connected to this week’s weigh in, has been bothering me; I’m constantly frustrated by my body and its inability to be “normal”.

Yesterday I went on an afternoon walk as my exercise for the first time in many weeks. I used to take almost daily walks at the start of this whole mess, but it was a lot cooler back then. It was too hot to work in the yard, something I have not done in over a week. 😕

This afternoon I’ll be joining Bonnie visiting our friend Robert, who also celebrates a birthday in July, for a beer or two at Lee+White (think “Monday Night Garage”, “Wild Heaven”, or “Best End Brewing”).

As a reminder:
What: Silver Comet Bike Ride
Where: Florence Road parking lot
When: Saturday morning, wheels on the ground 9:00am
Why: Earn some beer drinking of course

Have a great weekend, wear a mask in public when you can’t keep a safe distance, and attempt to stay healthy.

  1. I have still been unable to find any confirmation about scheduling a wood chip dump at my house. I know I didn’t imaging requesting one. I guess I will add my name to the list and make mulching an August chore.

    • Bonnie says:

I remember you asked me to possibly help move it on short notice it if it was dumped, say, behind your car. But I guess I can’t say with certainly that you had actually scheduled it or if you were planning to do so. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • I remember that too. I have a distinct memory of going to the website after a Saturday walk with Betsy. I would have sworn that I also completed the form and requested a dump on that day.

Steve, regarding yesterday’s post where you said styrofoam coolers worked well for you, I forgot I have actually purchased ONE cooler, a small styrofoam one that I used for hash pre-lube beer. Perhaps I’ll give it a weekend test run as well at the campout… Thanks!

I read on the book of faces that Barb may choose Davey over us tomorrow… Fine! JK. 😄

Another frustrating day trying to learn data modeling. I at least am looking at the right directory, but the file provided appears to be corrupt, at least in the eyes of the tool. More banging my head against the wall in a little while.

After a 0300 pit stop this morning, I couldn’t get back to sleep. I must have turned off my alarm at some point as I didn’t stir until just before 7- supposedly I’m at work at 0630. Oh well.

17 miles, about half gravel, last night in new kit. The “large” is slightly more snug than I would like so I’ll keep working on that as a goal.

I stirred the FB pot last night with a very political post. I try and avoid conflict but I posted it anyway and will consider engaging in some of the rhetoric it is producing.

…and wheels rolling at 9 tomorrow.

  6. Has anyone here been to a dentist since March? I confirmed my 8/17 appointment today and wonder how having someone in my mouth works in Covid-19 times.

  7. I know nothing about their music, but I just saw that there is a band called “The Suffering Fuckheads” and it made me laugh.
