That sums up my last twenty-four hours. Today could be rough, especially if I don’t get a nap.
Not much on my weekend agenda thanks to my bum leg.

Spoke to my buddy in the swamp this morning. Still no power, but he has small generators keeping things livable. Cell service and “city wide” internet is back up. Lot’s of boats damaged/destroyed in the local yacht club. The pics from Lake Charles (to his west) are amazing. He reported the water plant and sewage treatment plant are both destroyed. Could be months before repair…
20 CX miles last night- humid and hot!! Just as I was getting ready to leave, the skies opened up, but it was just the edge of a bigger storm that was moving quickly. I go a little damp, but nothing to stop me. Lots of deer out last night.

Got a good weekend coming up, tennis match on Saturday and NICA mountain bike team practice on Sunday. I love coaching these kids, they are having so much fun!

Thinned my seedlings today. Something about choosing which ones live or die makes me uncomfortable. Of course, if they make it maturity I intend to eat them, and I am okay with that…

I do too! I don’t want to struggle as much as I did last year. I also need to look into purchasing a few colder weather cycling clothing items, I really don’t have much of anything!
Turns out I missed some drama in my ‘hood last night. Two men, one carrying a gun, walked in-between my next-door neighbor’s house and the next house over coming from the back (garages / alley) walking toward the street. They seemed surprised to find my neighbors on their front porch and quickly try to hide the gun. They mumbled “sorry†and walked back between the houses toward the alley. Turns out there was also a stolen car parked on the street one street over that appeared at about the same time but we don’t know yet if the two are related. It’s never boring here, that’s for sure.
I found a random key in my side yard a couple weeks ago, likely dropped by someone who should not have been there…
Also, this was about 7:00 pm I understand.

Most people have cameras of some sort, me included. There are also APD cameras throughout my neighborhood.
