Real short one today since it’s nearly 7:30am and I have barely started with my day. I am feeling tired and incredibly unmotivated today.

I wound up going to Moonlite last night. The start was Mellow Mushroom in midtown, in the Promenade shopping center (think across from Grady High School) which now annoyingly has paid parking. To be “fair” the first two hours of parking is free, but it’s a huge annoyance and will most likely convince me to avoid going to the businesses unless I get there by cycling or walking.

Because of my leg I just walked 2.5 flat miles with Bonnie. My injury proved to be fortuitous since the trail turned out to be 6.5 miles (what has happened to Monday night hares?!?!) and most of the pack finished after Mellow Mushroom had closed at 9pm (thanks for nothing, COVID). Our short journey allowed us to get back in time to drink a beer and order a delicious pizza, two pieces of which I have already consumed as breakfast.

Not much going on today as we all prepare for days of rain…

Hope you are remaining healthy.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 190.2 pounds (+2.4 from last week’s weigh-in); one cannot eat pizza and expect to lose weight…

I gained weight today too. We did drink a good bit of beer this weekend… At least you didn’t have two last night like I did. If only the waiter hadn’t come back one last time! *Sigh*

6.5 !?!? And didn’t get to have any pizza? Oh I’d be pissed…

We have big yellow equipment in the front yard!! Now waiting to see the work start.

My exercise consisted of cutting the grass. Today I have a dentist appointment at 4 in Stone Mountain, and a 3:30 conference call, which I’ll be taking from his parking lot. I thought about riding at the mountain, but don’t have a current sticker.

Dinner tonight will be from Taqueria los Hermanos in Tucker!! Our favorite!!!!!

    • The hare erroneously thought Mellow Mushroom was open until 10pm. I saw Strava maps today, it didn’t appear that a trail of that length was warranted. Sani is getting a little tired scolding the hares for long trails.

And, out of the blue there was a Dead Root sighting last night! I can’t tell you the last time I saw him at a hash.

Hope the big yellow equipment can get out of what will undoubtedly become a mud pit.

  3. Steve says:

Dead Root? Wow, that really is a blast from the past.

2 pieces of yellow equipment- both tracked, so mud should not be a problem. Still no sign of operators!!

  4. Much like her hashing namesake Hurricane Sally seems to be covering ground quickly. I hope that she clears out by Friday so that I can have a good weekend, with apparently cooler temperatures, doing my own yard cleanup.

  5. ITP Lurker says:

Thanks for the heads up on the Trader Joe’s parking lot. That lot is always a shit show, maybe this will make it less so.

Bummer on you adding back a couple of pounds, but for the rest of us, shows you’re still human and not just a weight loss machine. 😉

  6. Out to get a haircut. Wish I had been more prepared to do other chores away from home today. Stopped into CVS, boy howdy has Lysol gotten expensive in the past seven months!

Wanted Starbucks, so I masked up and got in line. One person ahead of me, trying to pull of some monstrous transaction, so I stepped out of line and placed a mobile order; my drink was ready before that person of ahead of me finished her business.

  7. I started following a new project called Free 99 Fridge. Currently with three locations, the project is intended to provide free food which is donated by individuals. The locations are at Best End Brewing, Hodgepodge (original location), and at Joystick on Edgewood. Today they posted on Instagram that they were surprised to see that after only two days all of their bins had been taken. Clearly the people who started this initiative don’t understand the Human Condition.

  8. Steve says:

Spoke with the machine operator- he’s trying to get as much done as he can before the weather turn bad late tomorrow and Thursday. I worried the previous machine had cut the stumps off too short, but his machine has no problem.

  9. Back home, and just remembered that Apple has an event planned for today starting in 25 minutes.

  10. Steve says:

Ouch. Last years winner, Egan Bernal came in with the laughing group today, 27 minutes OTB. And got a 500 swiss franc penalty for littering. He must be ill.
