I keep waiting for my body to heal itself. That’s what is supposed to happen, right?

Yesterday I had one of those “Huh, something looks different outside.” moments; the backyard just seemed to have more daylight. Upon going outside I deemed that part of my old, dead, pine tree which is now covered in English ivy, lost part of itself over the weekend and that part had fallen into my yard. I have a tree company coming out to the house to provide me with some work estimates in a couple of weeks, one of the estimates I will request will be the cost of taking down this dead tree. Since I was in the yard I got the bug to do more of the cleanup that I have been doing this year. I brought out my little chainsaw and took down some more limbs, cleaned most of them up, and started a new pile of yard waste at the curb. Last night I scheduled another yard waste pickup with the City, my third of the twelve that I can schedule in a year, for two weeks from today. I realize that I won’t be able to do any yard work this weekend, but two weeks should be enough time for me to get a nice pile out there. I am assuming that this will probably be the last major haul of yard waste to the curb for 2020. All this work is also allowing me to amass a nice arsenal of wood to burn in my fire pit outside as well.

Not much else is going on in my world. I hope that all is going well in yours.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 189.2 pounds (-1.2 from last week’s weigh-in); given that injuries have stopped me from doing “proper exercises” for the past two months I’m feeling good about that number.

Finally got word from my frined in SW Louisiana. Damage to the house has been somewhat repaired, power expected to be out for 6 weeks. Apparently the work to repair Laura damage gets to be repeated and then some for Delta. And AT&T has a major fiber hub in his little town and there are lots of ATT trucks- they even put up their own temporary cell tower so his cell service has IMPROVED because of the storm. Screwy.

Enjoyed some scooter time yesterday. I went past the Meriwether Co. board of elections to see just a couple folks standing outside, so that’s good.

I will be dragging later as 0500 came really early this morning. In the office to prepare for some upcoming work. And a haircut appointment this afternoon! Whoopee.
