I’m taking a quick break from my laundry cycle as I let my clothes soak in soapy water for a few more minutes. I have already eaten breakfast during this break as well. I was trying to get everything, including a shower, done before 6:30am (not going to happen) so I could attempt to vote first thing this morning too. I may drive past the polling place later this morning on my way to a grocery store to see if I can fit it into my schedule. If there appears to be a line outside then I will kick the voting ball down the road until next Monday.

I didn’t get a whole heck of a lot done yesterday, and this story may explain why — I awoke on the futon to go pee and when walking past my clock I assumed that it needed a new battery since it read 9:20pm; I had been completely zonked out so it clearly had to be much later than that. Upon returning back to my futon I looked at my iPad and saw that it said the time was 9:22pm. Huh. Of course as soon as my head hit the pillow I was asleep again in a matter of minutes. I did spend time watching Apple’s iPhone event, so at least I got done. 😂

Today I need to wrangle all of my camping and cycling gear for this weekend. My unique nutrition requirements combined with my desire to eat less meat has made communal eating more difficult for me because just about everyone else is an omnivore that can also eat anything regardless of its potassium content.

On my health front things are slowly getting better. For the most part my swollen eyelid has remedied itself, and slowly but surely my left knee is experiencing less pain. I am keeping my fingers crossed, attempting not to fracture or break them in the process, that my health will continue to improve.

Hope that your Tuesday was super and healthy.

Thought I’d say hi before all hell breaks loose here at work – I’m so stressed out & tired. I’m really looking forward to this long weekend- just hanging with friends.
BTW- Vern, Benny, Twiggs & Dan will be making an appearance, so the conversations should be entertaining if nothing else.

Need to get our camping & biking shit together as well, but I think I may take the whole day off tomorrow, not just a half day, so I’ll get it done at some point.

Today will also be a packing day for me! Lots to do. The weather will be a wee bit hard to pack for so I’m sure I’ll pack waaaay too much. As long as I can wedge it all in the car I guess what does it matter… Just a little more work. The camping section of my packing (most of it) is more of a pain than most people because I don’t have “ready to go” packed camping / (cycling) bins. It’s a good thing I enjoy gathering, packing and lists. 😁

It should be a great weekend to camp… only slightly jealous.

My day it the office yesterday was running wide open the whole f’ing day. While accomplishing a lot, I still could be in today. I did manage to get my hair cut, so there is that. Long overdue.

The virtual Stone Mountain Highland Games kick off Friday afternoon. These will be up on Youtube for all to see and some of these were made especially for us. Some is canned video from previous years, but should still be fun. Our goal is to keep folks connected- unlike another large games in NC, we don’t have our hand out looking to make money at this virtual event.

And Barb, a friends Subaru Outback had it’s wiring harness eaten by rats. Apparently when you make insulation out of soy based products, it attracts rats. Who knew?

Steve – well – that’s interesting about the rats – I’m glad we don’t have rats at my house.

this camping is weird- as we have Steve & Julie’s house right there, so we can use the kitchen, bathroom, etc. Sal has decided to request a bedroom, so she won’t be outside sleeping. (shocking to me, but hey, Sal can still surprise us). Since Benny is coming, we have to be extra careful, as just in case we are invisible covid carriers -and I hope his voice has gotten better, as it so hard to hear him, and getting too close is a no no.

      • I was surprised when Sal asked for a bedroom, but hey, to each their own. I mean who wouldn’t want to freeze sleeping in a tent? 😂

Going to be a fun time, hope my knee and back are willing.

  4. Back from voting (yay!) and grocery shopping. The only thing I didn’t buy was beer for myself…

I lucked out at the polling place. When I arrived there was no line, but by the time I was finished there was. I don’t think I need to identify for which presidential candidate I voted. I will say that if the current president remains, don’t blame me. 😉

So were the crowds because Monday was a holiday? Or the first day? I’m a bit confused…

  6. Looking at the new iPhones announced. Apple is including a Lightning to USB-C cable, but no power adapter. I guess an old Lightning cable should also work with the new phone since I don’t want purchase a power brick too.

To be clear, I’m not looking to get a new phone just yet, but I am on the Apple Lease Program so I am eligible for an upgrade when I want.

And, found a cobb county app to show wait times for voting.
Might go try to vote this morning – who knows!
