For the first time in a long time I woke this morning to the sound of thunder. This thunder proceeded what turned out to be a heavy rain. I will be interested to see how my construction site handles the heavy rain. The rain is supposed to end this morning, perhaps I’ll get outside and do some more work this afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon’s weather was unexpectedly (to me) nice. Though I couldn’t muster the desire to go out and work the garden plot, I did get out for over an hour with the chainsaw and did some cleanup of the fallen tree/limb zone. Though most of the wood is still too wet to burn, even before the heavy rain, the fire pit is itching to be filled and set ablaze. As I surveyed the work ahead of me in this zone I decided that I should schedule a yard waste pickup with the City and drag some of the branches to the curb.

Still at the curb this morning are the four bags of yard waste that I put out for collection yesterday. I hope that the rain hasn’t destroyed the integrity of the bottom of the leaf bags allowing them to break. We all know exactly how much of the dropped waste the collectors pickup after they drop it (answer: “none”).

Last week I thought that I was doing the “right” thing by putting all of my small Amazon purchases into one delivery day, “My Amazon Day”. That day was yesterday, but the delivery never arrived. 😠 So much for doing the right thing…

Hope you are are remaining healthy and happy.

Tuesday Tale of the Tape: 186.0 pounds (-1.4 from last week’s weigh-in); manual labor wins again! If I can ever get to the end of my backyard projects I might get down to 180.0 pounds. 🤞🏼

  1. USPS has just been by and dropped off yesterday’s mail and my Amazon delivery. I guess they couldn’t make their entire rounds yesterday?

*Fist bump* Paulie! I’ve been too scared to step onto a scale lately.

There was SO MUCH lightening too. There is a large crane across I-20 that I can see from my bed and I’m pretty sure lighting must have hit it multiple times? It was bright! (Yes I sleep with the blinds up so the cats can see out at night.) 😻😻

Playing the fun waiting game of waiting for the ADT tech to arrive sometime between 8-noon.

Wow! Work has been busy as hell this morning!

We certainly heard the storm this morning, but I don’t think we got that much lightning. Certainly plenty of rain.

Had a knock on the door this morning- apparently the neighbor noticed a certain donkey in her yard. I don’t think she realizes MP is over there quite frequently!! I walked over and recovered her. She came right away…

I woke up at 2:30 to the sounds of tornado warning sirens, that was a little concerning. Looked at the radar and the front was just north of us. Got a bunch of rain and wind and back to sleep around 3:15.
    Barb did you get hit?
I’m going to enjoy this January spring weather tonight.
